About a year ago I did a round-up of Asian music I'd previously featured on Star Sparkle. It includes links to my earlier posts Asian Music- J-pop, K-pop and Beyond (from 2017) and Asian Music- Part 2 (2019). You can read the round-up post here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/03/asian-music-round-up.html
Since then, I've continued to share music from various Asian genres (including K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and Vietnamese music), so here is a follow-up post. :)
Note: I also like Bollywood/Hindi music but as with the past posts, I'm going to stick to East Asian music here. For some Bollywood and more Indian music, see the bottom of the post.
C-pop
As I've mentioned before, Japanese and Korean pop are my favourite Asian music genres, but I also enjoy listening to Chinese pop. In 2018 I started a "semi-regular" feature called C-pop Saturday. You can find links to the C-pop Saturday posts from 2018 and up to Sept 2019 in the Asian Music- Part 2 post and those from Dec 2019 to March 2021 in the first Asian Music Round-up.
Now here are the posts since March last year:

Indonesia
In the Asian Music Round-up post I mentioned that I only know a few Indonesian singers, such as Anggun (my favourite), NIKI and Rich Brian. I had just come across Afgan on YouTube, so I featured the video for his single M.I.A (featuring Hong Kong singer/rapper and GOT7 member Jackson Wang) in that post.
And here is the video for Afgan's single if i don't have your love (written all in lower case), which was a Weekly Music Video last April: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/04/weekly-music-video_28.html

Thai
I don't listen to as much Thai music, the main singer I like is Tata Young (although I don't think she releases much these days). I came across Waii in 2019 and shared one of her videos in the Asian Music- Part 2 post.
Last year I did a post about international girl groups which features Thai group GTWENTY (and also features Angolan girlband Afrikanas): https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/04/international-girl-groups.html
Today I'm sharing two Thai acts not previously featured on the blog. :)
Neko Jump- Show Me Please!
First up is an older video from now disbanded Thai music duo Neko Jump, which was made up of twin sisters Warattha (Noey) and Charattha (Jam) Imraporn. They were active from 2006 to 2017 and in 2018 formed a trio called JNP with their younger sister Charada aka Piglet (a former member of Thai girl group Sugar Eyes, also disbanded). JNP stand for the first initals of their stage names (Jam, Noey, Piglet).
The sisters were also succesful in Japan and have acted in addition to singing.
Show Me Please! was released in November 2015. Turn on "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube to see English subtitles! :)
Also check out the video for JNP's When you cry, which came out in October 2020: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtOSA-hyBTc

PIMRYPIE- Thai title
And this is a song by Pimrypie. The title is written in Thai. PIMRYPIE's real name is Pimadaporn Benjawattnapat and she is a Thai YouTuber/ influencer and singer. She started out selling a wide variety of items at a local market, before taking her business online and then opening her own cosmetics company. The name "Pimrypie" was inspired by a famous Thai beauty blogger called Pearypie.
Pimrypie started her music career by releasing the song Ya na ka. Outside of YouTube she has helped local villagers by putting money towards improving their living conditions
I thought this song might be called Lineman but it is actually a collaboration with LINE MAN, which is a Thai food delivery service. (Similar to Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber in the UK.) Pimrypie is participating in their Half-Half program. The song title translates into English as something like "Worth each floor" (according to online translators!). Quite a unique sound, sort of rappy style. The video came out in November.
Check out the video for Pimrypie's latest single Dry (English translation), featuring Thai actor, model and singer Mario Maurer, here (English subtitles available): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1kd1cwV_OU

Vietnamese
I've come across a few Vietnamese artists in the past such as Hồ Ngọc Ha and Noo PhướcThịnh. You can find more links to Vietnamese music in the Asian Music Round-up.
Last year I did a V-pop in Public post featuring a dance cover of a Vietnamese song: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/06/v-pop-in-public.html
And I also featured Em Đi Đâu by Vietnamese music producer and singer Machiot as a Weekly Music Video: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/10/weekly-music-video_27.html
Hope you liked the post! :) I plan to share more Asian music in future. What is your favourite genre?
