J-pop in Public Dances

When I did my K-pop Music and Dance Round-up post in September I mentioned that I was going to have a look for some J-pop in Public videos. If you don't know, K-pop in Public is the title of videos featuring dance covers of K-pop songs. If you search on YouTube, you can find many videos listed.

J-pop in Public (dancing to Japanese songs) does not appear to be as popular, but I found a few that I'm sharing today! :)

(J-POP IN PUBLIC JAPAN) (Daichi Miura) FEVER Dance Cover by 2X2X

First up is a dance cover of Daichi Miura's 2015 song FEVER by 2X2X. They are a 5 member boys dance group from Japan who perform J-pop and K-pop covers. The members are IORI, II, RYUKU, MASAHIRO and TAKERU.

The boys are performing in Shibuya (a district in Tokyo) and the video was uploaded in August.

Note: Avex videos (or ones containing their music) are blocked from being shown on third party applications. If you click on the video, you can watch it fine on YouTube. :)

Update 28/3/25: Unfortunately, several of 2X2X's videos have been removed or made private. I'll update this if they ever upload them again.

(JPOP IN PUBLIC) TWICE 'Perfect World' OT9 Ver- Hush Boston

Now for the girls! This is a dance cover of Perfect World, the title single from Korean girl group TWICE's 3rd Japanese album, released in June. It's performed by HUSH CREW, a dance group based in Boston and LA that mainly does K-pop covers.

The dancers are Kim, Josh, Will, Bela, Aaliyah, Nikki, Daphne, Celena and Sophia.  This is 0T9 version which I think means with all 9 members. In July I featured a dance cover of the OT9 version of I CAN'T STOP ME.

(JPOP IN PUBLIC)- Gokuraku Jodo- Biaz

Here is a dance cover of Gokuraku Jodo by pop rock duo GARNiDELIA. The dance is performed by Biaz, a K-pop cover dance group from Taiwan. Their name originates from the K-pop term "Bias".

While they mainly dance to Korean music, on this occasion they covered a J-pop song. The dancers are Nanase, Xian and Yuka, and the video was uploaded in April.

Hope you like the post! :) I plan to do more J-pop in Public posts in future. And probably some more belly dance ones. I hadn't been very inspired lately, but I went to a metal fusion belly dance workshop with Lianna Greene today (the first one I'd done since the start of the pandemic)! It's been good to get back to dancing more lately.

Do you have any favourite J-pop cover dance groups?

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. They are probably one of the most well-known K-pop bands worldwide.  In June 2022, the group took a break while the members served their  mandatory military service in Korea and have also been concentrat...
