Also here are a few other songs I like:

Aitraaz

Aitraaz  (2004) is a remake of the 1994 film Disclosure (which I like as well) starring Michael Douglas and Demi Moore. It's about businessman Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) who is happily married to Priya (Kareena Kapoor) and they are expecting a baby. Then he meets his boss' wife, who is also his ex-girlfriend Sonia (Priyanka Chopra).

Sonia still wants Raj but he doesn't want her anymore. She sets out to seduce him and when it fails she decides to get revenge by accusing him of raping her, even though she was the one sexually harassing him! But Raj won't let her win and prepares to fight her in court. The movie is also said to be based on the real life case of American basketball player Kobe Bryant.

I've only seen this once but remember it being a good film. Being Bollywood it's a lot less sexual than the original! But I think it's a bit racier than the average Bollywood film. I like most of the songs.

Here's Gela Gela Gela, my favourite song. I think this is during Raj and Priya's honeymoon but I'm not 100% sure. The playback singers are Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan.

This is I Wanna Make Love To You, the scene where Sonia is trying to seduce Raj. Sunidhi sings this one too. There's a male version on the album as well, sung by Kunal Ganjawala.

And this is Tala Tum Tala Tum (I think it means something like "Quagmire?). In this scene Raj is at a work party with his boss Ranjit Roy (Amrish Puri), Sonia and Priya. I think it's after Raj rejected Sonia but it's a long time since I saw it, so I may be wrong, lol. The singers are Alka Yagnik, Jayesh Gandhi and Udit Narayan.

Update: I did a search and "talatum" was described as either "stormy" or "continuity". I thought the English subtitle translation was "quagmire" when I saw it years ago but I may be remembering wrong!

Humraaz

Humraaz (2002) is a remake of the Hollywood film A Perfect Murder. See the link to Bardaasht above for the storyline. I think Humraaz means something like "Confidant", will have to check my DVD English subtitles!

This is Pyaar Kar. It's one night on the cruise ship, and Priya is carrying out her and Karan's plan to get Raj (the ship owner) to fall in love with her. Udit Narayan sings on this one too. The other singers are Shaan and Kavita Krishnamurthy. Himesh Reshammiya did the music for this but he doesn't sing this time. Check out the Awarapan and Emraan Hashmi links for songs he does sing. :)

Here's Sanam Mere Humraaz. It's a scene between Raj and Priya. I think Sanam Mere Humraaz is something like, "You are my confidant" but I'm not entirely sure. The singers are Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik.

Hope you had a great Christmas! Happy Boxing Day and hope you enjoy the videos. :)

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo), ...

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer. She was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder , although didn't feel ready to speak about it pubicly until several years later .  Although Charmbracelet (MC's first release after leaving Virgin Records America and singing w...
