Weekly Music Video

Today's video is Ça Ira by Cameroonian singer Nabila . Although I'm part Cameroonian, I don't listen to much music from Cameroon. I tend to come across more Nigerian and Ghanaian music , occasionally some East African or South African . So, I thought it would be cool to share a Cameroonian song today. :) Nabila's real name is Fatima Rodriguz and she has a Hispano/Spanish-Moroccan dad and a Cameroonian mum. She is from Bamenda in Northwest Cameroon (where my dad's family is also from!) and i think she's now based in Douala. She made her debut with the single Turn up and was later signed by French record label R.E.G.N .  Her other singles include Sawa Romance with Locko (cover), Tromper featuring Tzy Panchak , Pardon Pars featuring Tenor and Dis Moi. Ça Ira is sung mostly in French (one of the official languages of Cameroon)  and translates as "It Will Be Fine" in English. It was Nabila's debut single with R.E.G.N Records and was released ba

C-pop Saturday

Time for the first C-pop Saturday of the year! This is a semi-regular feature that I started back in 2018 . The last post was in November, so here is some Chinese music for 2022 (not brand new but a mixture). :) PANTHEPACK- Shanghai Dream First up is Shanghai Dream by PANTHEPACK . They are a Chinese hip hop group founded by Hong Kong rapper and singer Jackson Wang (who is also a member of K-pop group GOT7 ). In addition to Jackson, the other members are Chinese American singer-songwriter Karencici , Taiwanese American rapper/producer J. Sheon and Chinese rapper ICE . PANTHEPACK is managed by TEAM WANG, Jackson's company. They started out by releasing the songs DNA and Transmit last April. Their other singles include Pull Up, Gut Feeling and BUZZ. Shanghai Dream is their latest single and was released on 10th December.  The song is a mixture of English and Chinese lyrics (English subtitles available). This is the official visualiser. Jersey was set to be released on New Year's Day (31st December) 2021 but has been postponed due to the rise of Omicron cases in India. I don't think a new release date has been announced yet.   The playback singers for Baliye Re are Sac

Today's video is Livin Easy? by British rapper and singer B Young . It's from his debut album Differences which was released last summer, and is one of my favourite songs of his. Weekly Music Video

This week's video is На Муве (MOVE) by Korean/Russian model turned singer Yuri Park (or Park Yuri in Korean terms) and featuring DMITRYSFACE. Yuri was born in Uzbekistan and later moved to Russia. According to a Harpers Bazaar article he has Korean, English and Russian heritage. As well as Russian, he speaks English and Korean. He moved to South Korea in 2015 to become a model, joining the model company ESteem Entertainment. Yuri got his start in the music business by appearing in the music video for Free Somebody by f(x) member Luna and after training for 3 years with a Korean music company, he was a contestant on the reality survival show Produce X 101. Yuri debuted in the K-pop duo JXR with Baekjin in December 2019 (now disbanded). He started uploading his solo music videos to YouTube in 2018 and his latest release is FINE. I can't find much info on DMITRYSFACE but I think his real name is Dmitry Leeguy. MOVE is a Russian language song and was released in Novembe
