Sorry the 2nd post is later this week; I didn't manage to finish it yesterday. :)   Back in in 2019 I wrote a blog post featuring songs from Head in the Clouds II, the 2nd album by 88rising. I decided to split it into two posts because I was behind with posting. :)  88rising (also written as 88⬆) is an American mass media company founded by Sean Miyashiro in 2015. It primarily represents Asian artists, both from America and Asia. 88rising's enterprises include a record label, video production and clothing companies. The record label mainly works with hip hop and R'n'B rappers and singers. Today's video is Idiot by Kosovar (Kosovan Albanian singer Era Istrefi . It's her latest single and is an Albanian language song (with the odd English line). The video premiered on 29th December. Today's video is Like California, the new single by Singaporean singer Gen Neo and featuring Korean singer DeVita . It is Gen's first collaboration with a female R'n'B artist under the Korean hip hop and R'n'B entertainment company/record label AOMG . Gen started his career in South Korea and has released music mainly in Korean and Chinese (Mandopop aka Mandarin language pop). He is now moving into the English music scene, having previously released 3 all-English singles- Blame it On Me , RELAPSE and In The Morning in the past months. DeVita's releases include her EPs Crème (2020) and American Gothic (2022), and the 2022 singles Eat Your Heart Out, Buddy Kane! and BTBT, her collab with Korean rapper and singer B.I (formerly the leader of boy band iKON ), American rapper Soulja Boy . This week's video is Kyaa Baat Hai 2.0 from the new Bollywood film Govinda Naam Mera (My Name is Govinda). It's a comedy crime thriller about the title character, backup/background dancer Govinda Waghmare (played by Vicky Kaushal ) who wants to divorce his "hotty" wife Gauri ( Bhumi Pednekar )  to be with his "naughty" girlfriend Suku ( Kiara Advani ). Things get even more complicated when there is a murder! It was released on 16th December, through Indian video on demand service Disney+ Hotstar .  Kyaa Baat Hai is a remake of the song Kya Baat Ay by cricketer turned singer and actor Harrdy Sandhu , which was released in September 2018. The new version was recreated by Tanishk Bahchi and is sung by Harrdy and Nikhita Gandhi . I think Kya Baat Ay/Kyaa Baat Hai translates as something like "You are extraordinary/amazing" in English. The subtitles on YouTube translate that line in both versions as "Everything about you is extraordinary" and

 Time for the first Weekly Music Video of the year! :) This is lose you (stylised in lower case), a duet by Nigerian singer and record producer CKay and French singer Ronisia .  CKay (real name Chukwuka Ekweani) is a popular singer who is best known for his 2019 single Love Nwantiti. He started out in a group called cre8tive music and then launched a solo career, releasing the promotional single Bad Musician Bad Producer in May 2016 and singing to the Nigerian record label Chocolate City . He released his debut EP Who the F*ck Is CKay in September 2016. CKay's breakthrough hit in Nigeria was the single Container, which came out in March 2018. He released his second EP CKay the First in August 2019.
