Please note that the following song and video contain themes that may be distressing.
Today's video is Sell Me Your Love, the latest English single by Japanese singer MIREI (full name Touyama Mirei, or Mirei Touyama in Western terms). The song is about a real life stabbing that took place in Kabukicho (Tokyo's red-light district) in 2019. A woman knifed her boyfriend who was working as a nightclub host. MIREI reflects on how love can go wrong when it's treated as something to be bought and sold.
Sell Me Your Love was released on 11th February.
I believe the case being referred to is that of Yuka Takaoka and Phonix Luna, although reports I found said that Phoenix survived. In MIREI's info about the song on YouTube, she describes it as fatal.
