16 and Pregnant Rebooted

The popular American reality show 16 and Pregnant is back! The series, which follows pregnant teen girls on their journey to giving birth, originally aired in 2009. It spawned the hit spin-off shows Teen Mom (now Teen Mom OG)and Teen Mom 2, plus the short-lived Teen Mom 3 and then more recently Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. There have even been international versions including Teen Mom UK and Teen Mom Australia.

16 and Pregnant went on hiatus in 2014 after 5 seasons. However, it's now back featuring 6 new girls. The show premiered in the US in October, but it's just started here in the UK. The first episode was Wednesday.

S6 follows the stories of Madisen Beith, Rachelle Perez, Kasmonyae Harris, Camryn Fields, Madison Everhart and Kali Colette. 

 

Madisen Beith

17-year-old Madisen lives with her dad and family friend in Heben Springs, Arkansas. She has a difficult relationship with her mum. After getting pregnant, she chose to leave high school rather than be sent to a school for "bad kids", and study for her GED.  She gave birth to daughter Camille in March 2020. Camille's father is Madisen's boyfriend Christian.

Rachelle Perez

Rachelle, 20, is from Tujunga, Los Angeles and found out she was pregnant not long after getting together with her boyfriend Chase Keough, 23. The couple named their daughter, who was born in January 2020, Boston, after Chase's favourite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox! 

Rachelle experienced postnatal/postpartum depression after giving birth to Boston, which I think is covered in the show.

Camryn Fields

Camryn, 16, is from Newport, Michigan and was a cheerleader before she got pregnant. Her boyfriend is also called Cameron, and they have daughter Sadie, born in June 2020. They moved in with Camryn's family after losing a job due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Kasmonyae Harris

Kasmonyae (Kash) is from Avondale, Arizona. She graduated from high school and has a daughter named Nova Marie. The father is her boyfriend Nate. 

I can't find much about Kash online, only an old YouTube channel. But I will update this post as and when there's anything new. :)


Kali Colette

Kali is the youngest teen mum, having got pregnant aged 15. She's from La Porte, Indiana and has son Bodhi (also known as Beau) with her boyfriend Auston. Kali gave birth to Beau on 6th June last year.

Madison Everhart

Finally, our second Madison! The 19-year-old is from San Antonio, Texas and engaged to her baby's father Korey. They have daughter Kaezleigh Ka'mya, who was born in February 2020.

I've been watching the show since the early days, so it's good that it's come back. It will be interesting to see what the new generation of girls are like. Also, things are different now due to the pandemic, as we've seen on the latest series of Teen Mom 2. So far, we've seen Madisen's episode here, so I look forward to the rest of the episodes.

 

S6 of 16 and Pregnant is on Wednesdays at 8pm on MTV UK.

Update 10/1/21: S2 of Teen Mom Australia is starting here next Thursday! Ammerson (Ammi), Georgina (Georgie) and Akosita (Sita) and their families will be joined by new mum Tanisha Kandia, 19, and her 2-year-old daughter Bianca. It's at 8pm on MTV UK.

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026.
