Time for the first C-pop Saturday of 2021! It's become a "semi-regular feature since I started it in 2018, because I tend to only do a few posts a year, lol. So, here's a selection of new Chinese music. :)
Gen Neo- HOLD BACK
Last week I featured Singaporean singer Gen Neo's new single HOLD BACK in my first New Music for 2021 post. It's from his first mini album AD ADTRA. Visit the post to listen: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2021/01/new-music-for-2021-part-1.html
Jolin Tsai- Sweet Guilty Pleasure
Next up is a new song from Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai. (Or new-ish since it came out in December!). It's about sex basically, and the video features an unusual love story. According to the translation of the Chinese (thanks Google!), it's a dark fairy tale mermaid prequel. YouTubers Mr & Mrs Gao appear in the beginning.
Sweet Guilty Pleasure is from Jolin's 14th album Ugly Beauty, which was released back in December 2018. The video premiered on 16th December (2020). Pinyin and English subtitles are available (just click "Subtitles/closed captions").
Please note: The video contains a couple of scenes which some people may find distressing. Also here is a warning that it's not suitable for children under 6.

Casper True- TIME
Here is TIME, the latest single by Casper True. It's a R'n'B/hip hop and disco song and came out on 17th January.
Update 27/1/21: There is now a Full Dance Version music video for TIME: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLxuCJpKT-I
Jackson Wang and JJ Lin- Should've Let Go
This is Should've Let Go, a collaboration between Hong Kong singer/rapper (and member of K-pop boyband GOT7) Jackson Wang and Singaporean singer JJ Lin. It's about regretting choices you made in life.
Should've Let Go is sung in Mandarin and was released on 18th December.
Update 12/1/24: The music video has been removed for some reason, but here's an unofficial lyric video (Chinese/Pinyin/English):
Lexie Liu-ALGTR
Finally, here is Chinese singer Lexie Liu's new single ALGTR. I think it's about life in the modern-day world, living mostly online.
ALGTR was released on 11th January.
