Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant UK

The Teen Mom universe keeps growing! This month sees the start of a brand new spin-off- a UK version of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant. The original Teen Mom, now re-named Teen Mom OG (itself a spin-off on the American reality show 16 and Pregnant, which follows pregnant teenagers) started in 2009 and there have been several other shows since- Teen Mom 2, Teen Mom 3 (cancelled after one season), Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant and Teen Mom: Young Moms Club (formerly Pretty Little Mamas). There have also been several international versions, including Teen Mom UK and Teen Mom Australia. Series 6 of TM: UK just finished and now the British version of Young and Pregnant is due to start next week.

TM: Young and Pregnant UK follows 4 new girls- Charlie, Alisha, Laura and Charlotte who are all expecting babies. When TM UK started only Mia Boardman was pregnant but this time all of the mums were pregnant during filming. (Which makes sense since this is "young and pregnant"! lol).

Charlie

Charlie Hodder, 18, who lives in Doncaster, is pregnant by boyfriend Brett, 19, whom she'd been dating 7 months at the time they found out. The couple have moved in with Charlie's family. They have a daughter, Harlow.

Alisha

19 year old Londoner Alisha is married to Umair, 20, whom she met at college. She converted from Sikhism to Islam so she could marry him, and now they are expecting their first child, daughter Arabella.

Laura

18 year old Laura Fairhurst, from Ormskirk  in West Lancashire has a story we haven't seen so far on any Teen Mom shows. She fell in love with the "girl next door" Morgan, they got married and found a sperm donor on Facebook to have son Kingsley together! He was born in January.

Charlotte

Charlotte O'connor, 16, from Essex is pregnant with identical twins Isabella and Brianna and lives with her mum Donna, who sadly has a terminal condition. The babies' dad is no longer around, so Charlotte has to cope with single motherhood, as well as her mum being unwell.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
