New Music for 2021- Part 1

It's a brand-new year (hopefully it will be better than the last one!), so here is some new music for 2021! I've done this feature for the past 3 years.

Like last year, I'm writing a couple of posts. Some of these are actually from late last year because we're only just in January,  lol.

 

Britney Spears- Swimming in the Stars

This is Swimming in the Stars, a new song by American singer Britney Spears. It was released in early December and is from Britney's new album Glory (Deluxe Vinyl), out now. It's the deluxe version of her 2016 album Glory.

Swimming in the Stars is a laid-back pop, dancey song. This is the official visualiser (or visualizer). 




Britney + Backstreet Boys- Matches

Two ultimate 90s act came together when Britney teamed up with American boyband Backstreet Boys for the song Matches! (Nostalgia!!). It's light, fun pop.

It's cool to see them work together.  :) This is the audio.

Gen Neo- HOLD BACK

Now for some C-pop! This is HOLD BACK, the new song from Singaporean singer Gen Neo. It's from his 1st mini album AD ASTRA, which came out on 29th December.

The video for HOLD BACK premiered on New Year's Eve (31st December).

ZAYN- Vibez

Here is the new one from British singer Zayn (full name Zayn Malik), former member of One Direction turned solo singer. It was released on 8th January and is from his brand-new album Nobody Is Listening, which came out today.

The song has chilled out "vibez" which we could all do with! You can put your headphones on to listen in 360 Reality Audio (if you have it of course, which I don't!).

Lana Del Rey- Chemtrails Over The Country Club

Finally, here is Chemtrails Over The Country Club, the new single by American singer Lana Del Rey. It was released on 11th January and is from her upcoming 7th studio album of the same name. The album is due out on 19th March. 

Chemtrails Over The Country Club has Lana's usual dreamy style. The video is a bit strange (it features Lana and her friends going through a transformation), but interesting!

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
