New Teen Mom: YP + Teen Mom Australia

There's more Teen Mom coming to the UK for the start of 2020! First up is a new season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant, and then we'll get Teen Mom Australia later this month. Sometimes we get the new series straight after America but YP has taken longer to come here this time, since it started in the US in October.

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant

Young and Pregnant started in 2018, following in the footsteps of the original Teen Mom (itself a spin off of the American reality series 16 and Pregnant which followed pregnant teens), Teen Mom 2 and the short lived Teen Mom 3. At the start it followed 5 girls- Lexi Tatman, Ashley Jones, Brianna Jaramillo, Jade Cline and Kayla Sessler.

The show returned later in 2018 . Now it's back for S2  but there have been some changes. It was revealed a year ago that Lexi had been let go from YP and replaced by new girl Kiaya Elliot. I think it's a shame that we won't see her anymore. MTV reportedly felt that her storyline wasn't interesting enough, and her boyfriend Kyler wasn't popular with viewers. There would have been more for them to film though, since she gave birth to her second child Jay, a brother for 2 year old Tobias, in August! The news surprised fans, since she and Kyler chose to keep the pregnancy off social media and just announce the birth. See below for a more recent Lexi update. :)

In addition to Kiyah another new mum has joined the cast, Rachel Beaver, since Jade has left the show, going over to TM 2 as a replacement for Jenelle Evans!

 

Kiaya Elliot

19 year old Kiaya gave birth to her son Amour Amani-Nathaniel in December 2018. She's from Virginia and works as a nail technician. Her story is a bit complicated since she originally was with her girlfriend Teazaha (her high school sweetheart), took a break after Teazaha cheated on her, and then slept with a boy called X'Zayveon and got pregnant with Amour. X'zayveon is currently in prison. It's a bit similar to Brianna, who got pregnant with her son while on a break from her then boyfriend Danae.

Rachel Beaver

Rachel, 17, is from Tennessee and had her daughter Hazelee Rae last February. She was unsure who Hazelee's father was, her ex-boyfriend Drew or his best friend Jacob. In other TM: Young and Pregnant news, 20 year old Kayla gave birth to her 2nd child (her first with current boyfriend Luke Davis), daughter Ariah Jordan last August. Teen Mom Australia

Last July an Australian version of Teen Mom started. I wondered if/when we'd get it here, and it's set to start in the UK this month.

Teen Mom Australia follows 3 young mums- Ammersen, Georgina  and Akosita.  Ammi has since had another baby.


Ammersen  Chambers

Ammersen (whose nickname is Ammi), 18,  is from Melbourne and gave birth to son Jiyah in February 2018. Jiyah's father is her childhood sweetheart Jordan. During the show we will see Ammi's life as a teen mum and her relationship with her older sister Katya, who she lives with. In September Ammi and Jordan had second son Nakoah.

Akosita Masima

19 year old Akosita (Sita for short) from Western Sydney, gave birth to son Andrew in December 2018, her first child with boyfriend Thomson. She comes from a Tongan family, and she, Thomson and Andrew live with her parents, 3 brothers, sisters, grandad and siblings' children. As well as being a mother, Sita hopes to launch a singing career and get back to playing rugby which she put on hold after discovering she was pregnant at 22 weeks.

Georgina Manios

Georgina (nickname Georgie) is 20,  and a single mum to daughter Evie, who was born in July 2017.  She lives in the Sutherland Shire. Evie's dad is John who Georgie was together with 5 years, but they had an on and off relationship.

I'm looking forward to the show. Teen Mom UK has been successful, so if the Aussie version is too then we'll see it come back for another series/season. :) We still haven't got the new season of Unexpected (another show about teen mothers) in the UK, so I might have to watch clips  on YouTube (since I don't have Netflix etc.)!


S2 of TM: Young and Pregnant starts next Wednesday 8th January on MTV UK at 8pm, and Teen Mom: Australia will start on Monday 11th January at 7pm.

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album.
