Dance Videos Round-up 2025

As with last year, I've written quite a few dance video posts this year (about once a month or more often). We're now coming to the end of 2025, so today I'm sharing my annual round-up of posts featured on the blog. (My first one was in September 2020 and then I started doing them in December in 2021.)

And now here are a couple of dance videos I haven't previously shared.

[TPOP IN PUBLIC]  Saxo Love - Tobii | DANCE COVER BY ATERNUM

First up, some T-pop! Thai pop dance covers have gained in popularity in recent years. As I mentioned in my P-pop in Public Dances post, the most popular genre for Dance in Public covers (dance covers of songs performed in public places) was originally Korean music and there were many K-pop in Public covers. There are also J-pop (Japanese) and C-pop (Chinese) in Public videos.

In the past couple of years I've been coming across more South East Asian dance covers, including T-pop. There aren't as many as K-pop or J-pop but as time goes on, I think they will trend more.

One of the T-pop artists whose songs are popular in the cover dance world is Swiss/Thai rapper and R'n'B singer Tobii. Hi 2024 single Bad Girls Like You inspired many dance covers! The follow-up single Hotel Lobby (released in March this year) has also been covered quite a lot.

Now I've come across a few dance covers for Saxo Love, one of his most recent singles. It was released in June.

As with Tobii's previous singles, Thai dance studio MINIZIZE choreographed a dance to the song (the choregrapher is Earth_prompen), which has then been performed by various dance groups.

This cover is performed by Aeternum Crew. They are a K-pop cover dance group from Spain.

It's Aeternum's 2nd dance cover (they also have one of Hotel Lobby!) and was uploaded in September. The dancers are Mayte, Gala, Akira, Esther and Luana. As they say in their description/info box the lovely sunset in the background really adds to the atmosphere! :)

[K-POP ON CAMPUS] AOA - 'Miniskirt' | Dance Cover by K.P.O.C

And I'll finish with a new K-pop cover, another one of Miniskirt! In the past year or so, Korean girl group AOA's 2014 single Miniskirt (the lead single from their 5th single album of the same name) has made a sort of "comeback" in the cover dance world (much like similar girl group classics), despite the group having been inactive since 2019.

I first featured some Miniskirt dance covers in my Asian Dance in Public Videos post in February and then more in the K-pop in Public- Girl Group Classics post in June. Now here is one more to round off the year!

This cover is by KPOC - DANCE. They are a dance cover group from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA and they were established in 2019.

The video (which was filmed at the University of Alabama Student Center) was uploaded on 4th December) and features ashlyn as Seolhyun, ti as Yuna, toni as Choa, mya as Jimin, dance leader celeste as Hyejeong, yana as Mina and Jaya as Chanmi.

So that's it for now! I plan to share more dance videos in 2026. :) What have been your favourite dance covers (or other dance videos) this year?

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo), ...

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. It was actually the first album I ever bought (on cassette tape, lol) and I still consider it one of my fave MC albums. :) Butterfly was the first album that Mariah had more control over and it is R'n'B, rather than the pop (and later pop/R'n'B) of her previous releases. It also has pop and hip hop influences. The expanded edition contain 8 extra tracks (the original standard edition has 12)- a duet version of Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight , a new take on The Roof featuring Brandy , live versions of Butterfly and My All, acapella versions of Fourth of July and Outside, an Amorphous Anniversary Club Mix of Butterfly (with DJ Amorphous ) and a remix of Honey (Another Taste of Honey David Morales Mix). I had previously heard the D...
