Christmas Entertainment 2!

It's only 5 days till Christmas (seems to have come round quickly again!), so it's time for another festive themed post! Last year I wrote a post called Christmas Entertainment! You can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2024/12/christmas-entertainment.html

For 2025, I'm sharing more Christmas entertainment. It's a mixture of music and dance. :)

Music

Tobii- X Mas Love

Thai/Swiss rapper and R'n'B singer Tobii's X Mas Love was this week's Weekly Music Video. Originally released in December 2024, he brought out a new visualiser for the song last month.

Watch it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2025/12/weekly-music-video_17.html

Christina Aguilera- Someday at Christmas

Christina Aguilera (one of my favourite singers) has just released a new Christmas special, to mark the 25th anniversary of her holiday album My Kind of Christmas (which came out in October 2000). It's called Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris and was recorded live in front of the Eiffel Tower, in front of an audience of just 250 guests.

Some performances were also shot at the Crazy Horse (cabaret and strip club). Between songs, Christina reflects on love, motherhood, reinvention and her musical journey.

Side note: It was her birthday on 18th December, so Happy Belated Birthday, Christina! :)

The concert film was shown in American theatres/cinemas on 14th December and will be shown again on 21st Dec. It will also be shown on American TV network CBS on 22nd December. It's accompanied by a live album (the soundtrack to the film).

The first single was a cover of My Favorite Things from the classic musical The Sound of Music, which was released on 26th November. (I featured it in a post last month; see below).

The album consists of 16 tracks, including the holiday classics Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, O Holy Night, Someday at Christmas and The Christmas Song, and Christina's own hits, debut single Genie In A Bottle and Lady Marmalade (with Lil' KimMýa and P!NK).

Someday at Christmas is the 2nd single from Christmas in Paris and was released on 12th December. It was originally released by legendary American singer Stevie Wonder back in 1967 and was the title track from his 1st Christmas album (and 8th studio album). He also released a new version with American singer Andra Day in 2015.

I didn't know the song that well but it sounds good. Christina's voice suits it.

Plus, here is Christina's live performance of My Favorite Things, which I shared in my Christina Aguilera Live Performance post:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2025/11/christina-aguilera-live-performance.html

And here is the newest video, Christina and French singer Yseult's Ave Maria duet (premiered yesterday/19th Dec:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq2u9Cfn2B8

CHUNG HA- It's That Time of Year

Last year Korean singer CHUNG HA/Chungha  (a former member of now disbanded K-pop girl I.O.I turned solo star) released the special Christmas digital single [Christmas Promises]. It consisted of the tracks Sleigh and There Goes Santa Claus!. I featured the music video for Sleigh in my Christmas Entertainment! post (see above).

This Christmas, CHUNG HA has brought out another special Christmas digital single called [Christmas Promises: Again]. It was released on 5th December and contains 4 tracks- new songs Christmas Again and It's That Time of Year, plus Sleigh and There Goes Santa Claus!.

This is It's That Time of Year. It's an upbeat English language song, all about getting into the spirit of Christmas. This is a special clip video and was uploaded on 5th December. It features the lyrics onscreen.

Coco Jones- Skip My House

Last year American singer Coco Jones released the Christmas EP Coco By The Fire. I featured the video for the songs Santa Is Me/Call On Christmas as a Weekly Music Video last year (and in the Christmas Entertainment! post).

This year, she's released a brand-new Christmas song, Skip My House. It's a smooth R'n'B ballad about how Santa can skip her house this year because she already has everything she needs.

This is the audio and was uploaded on 7th November. If there's a music video in the future, I'll update this post. :)

Dance

TOBII - 'X MAS LOVE | MINIZIZE CHOREOGRAPHY

I've shared a lot of dance videos this year, particularly Dance in Public (dance covers performed in public places). One artist whose songs are popular in the cover dance world is rapper and singer Tobii. In December 2024 he released the single X Mas Love (and just uploaded a new visualiser this year; see above).

Last December, Thai dance studio MINIZIZE choreographed a dance to X Mas Love (the choreographer is Earth_prompen) and cover dance groups also did their own versions in 2024.

Here is the official MINIZIZE dance video (uploaded in December 2024), featuring dancers from the studio and Tobii himself!

Tobii has also been uploading YouTube shorts of himself dancing to the song this December.

[CHRISTMAS IN PUBLIC] X Mas Love - Tobi & Last Christmas - Ariana Grande || UniG Crew Dance Cover

Finally, here is a dance cover of both X Mas Love and American singer Ariana Grande's cover of the classic Wham! song Last Christmas.

Last Christmas was originally released in 1984 (the year I was born, lol) and has become a modern holiday classic. They always show the  music video on the music channels (or what's left of them nowadays!) every year.

Ariana covered it for her debut Christmas EP Christmas Kisses, which was released in December 2013. She went on to release a 2nd festive EP, Christmas & Chill in December 2015. I have that one and listen to it every Christmas! I've featured the songs on the blog in the past.

The dance covers are performed by UniG Crew Official. Their full name is Unique Galaxy Crew and they are a dance crew from HUBT University in Vietnam. The video was uploaded on Christmas Eve (24th Dec) 2024.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo), ...

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. It was actually the first album I ever bought (on cassette tape, lol) and I still consider it one of my fave MC albums. :) Butterfly was the first album that Mariah had more control over and it is R'n'B, rather than the pop (and later pop/R'n'B) of her previous releases. It also has pop and hip hop influences. The expanded edition contain 8 extra tracks (the original standard edition has 12)- a duet version of Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight , a new take on The Roof featuring Brandy , live versions of Butterfly and My All, acapella versions of Fourth of July and Outside, an Amorphous Anniversary Club Mix of Butterfly (with DJ Amorphous ) and a remix of Honey (Another Taste of Honey David Morales Mix). I had previously heard the D...
