Asian Dance in Public Videos

In the past few years, I've shared dance video posts from particular genres, such as K-pop in Public (dance covers of Korean songs performed in public), J-pop (Japanese pop) in Public and V-pop (Vietnamese pop) in Public. For today's post I'm featuring a variety of Dance in Public videos from different Asian music genres. :) 

Dance in Public/T-pop in Public- Bad Girls Like You (Tobii)

[POP IN PUBLIC LONDON] BINI- Salamin, Salamin (Dance Cover by CLIQUE) | United Kingdom

Next is some P-pop (Pinoy/Filipino pop) in Public. This is a cover of Salamin, Salamin by Filipina girl group BINI, which was released in March 2024. It was the lead single from their debut EP Talaarawan, which also came out in March. The dance is by CLIQUE, a dance cover group based in Manila, Philippines and London, UK.

This cover was performed in London and the dancers are Shavannah as Aiah, Elisabeth as Colet, Princess as Gwen, Kirsty as Jhoanna, Tammie as Maloi, LucKy as Mikha, Sandhya as Sheena and Issa as Stacey. The video was uploaded last May.

[QUYEN RU TREN PHO | 1TAKE] IKIAGAI- TANG DUY TAN BICH PHUONG Remix Dance- The Will5

Now we move on to a V-pop in Public video. This is a dance to the song IKIGAI by Vietnamese singer Tăng Duy Tân and featuring Bích Phương and 2pillz. It was released last October. 

This is a dance to the remix, not a cover but one made up for the song. It's performed by The Will5. They are a dance cover team from Vietnam, who were founded in 2013 and have won several cover dance competitions.

The dance was choreographed by Yang from The Will5. The video premiered in November and it's a "one-take" which means it was filmed all in one go.

[HOT TIKTOK CHALLENGE- PHO DI BO] MONG YU- AMEE x MCK from "MONGMEE Dance Performance- B-Wild

Here is another V-pop dance. It's part of a TikTok dance challenge where dancers perform to the song MỘNG YU by Vietnamese singer Amee and rapper MCK. The single is from Amee's first mini album MỘNGMEE, both of which were released last August.

The cover is by Vietnamese dance team B-Wild and the video premiered in August.

[K-POP IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE AOA) - 'Miniskirt'  | DANCE COVER- OnePear (Australia)

Here is some K-pop in Public! Korean girl group AOA released the single Miniskirt back in January 2014 (just over 11 years ago now). I actually featured it on the blog 10 years ago! It was the lead single from their 5th single album of the same name. 

The group have been inactive since 2019 (to date they haven't officially disbanded), their last release having been the EP New Moon in November that year. However, Miniskirt has  made a "comeback" of sorts in the cover dance world in recent months, with new covers being uploaded.

This one is by OnePear Dance Crew, a K-pop dance crew from Australia. Their name is a homophone of "Vampire" and it symbolises mystery and the unexpected charm that the group has. Most of the members are ONCE (fans of K-pop girl group TWICE), so expect to see quite a few TWICE covers on their channel! 

The cover (a one-take) was filmed in Sydney and uploaded in October. The dances are Ann as Choa, Yutong as Jimin, Suki as Yuna, Carol as Hyejong, Kiki as Mina, Angelina as Seolhyun and Nancy as Chanmi.

[K-POP IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE] AOA - 'Miniskirt' | Dance Cover by STARMINA | FRANCE

And here is another Miniskirt cover (also a one-take), by STARMINA, a K-pop dance cover group from France. It's a new video, which premiered on 15th February.

[DANCE IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE] XG - HOWLING in Singapore- TYT

Finally, here's some Dance in Public- a cover of HOWLING by Japanese girl group XG. As I've previously said, while they are Japanese, they are considered a global group, their creation was based on the K-pop format and they mostly sing in English. So, their dance cover videos tend to be listed as "Dance in Public" (and sometimes J-pop in Public or K-pop in Public). :)

HOWLING was the 3rd single from AWE, XG's 2nd EP and was released on 8th November (the same day the EP). It's one of my favourite songs from AWE.

This dance cover is by TYT Dance, a dance crew from Singapore. It's another one-take and features Shirley as Jurin, Virginia as Chisa, Tianyi as Hinata, Langrun as Harvey, Shuangshuang as Juria, Tianyi as Maya and Chloe as Cocona. The video was uploaded in December.

[DANCE IN PUBLIC] XG - 'HOWLING' Dance Cover by DARE Australia

And here is another cover of HOWLING, this time by Australian K-pop dance cover crew DARE. The video also premiered in December and the dancers are Maxine as Jurin, Hanna as Cocona, Adele as Harvey, Claire as Maya, Chee as Chisa, Vanessa as Juria and Meryn as Hinata.
