More New Music for 2025

Today I'm sharing some more new releases from various genres. Please note that some of the songs contain swearing/explicit lyrics. :)


Sukriti and Prakriti Kakkar- Aa Zara

Indian twin musical duo Sukriti and Prakriti Kakkar's new single Aa Zara (released on 24th January) was this week's Weekly Music Video. Watch it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2025/01/weekly-music-video_29.html

 

JoJo- Ready To Love

American singer JoJo recently released the single Ready To Love. It's one of the latest singles from her new EP NGL, her 5th, following on 2021's trying not to think about it. The EP title stands for "Not Gonna Lie" and it came out on 24th January.

NGL is mainly R'n'B and consists of 8 tracks including previous singles, lead single Porcelain, plus the "stripped down" version Porcelain Reimagined (released last October) and Too Much to Say (which came out in November).  She also just uploaded a lyric video for Nobody.

Ready To Love is a R'n'B song about wanting to find love with someone who is ready for it, instead of being in a difficult relationship. It was also released on 24th January.

Mabel, King Promise- All Over You

Next up is a new collab from Swedish/British singer Mabel and Ghanaian singer King Promise. It's called All Over You and is an amapiano (South African music genre) inspired song. The track was recorded in Lagos, Nigeria with Nigerian record producer Magicsticks. Mabel says it "represents her reconnection to a side of her that she hasn't explored in a while".

King Promise (real name Gregory Bortey Promise Newman) is from Accra and was interested in music from a young age. He was inspired by his dad, who exposed him to different styles of music, such as reggae, R'n'B, boybands and Ghanaian highlife. He also sang in his high school choir, after his headmaster heard him singing and asked him to join.

King Promise started out releasing music officially in 2017 on SoundCloud, before expanding to other streaming services. His music is a mixture of Afrobeats, highlife, R'n'B and hip hop, and his most recent release is the album True To Self (Deluxe) which came out in December.

All Over You comes after Mabel's previous singles from her upcoming 4th album, the most recent being last October's Stupid Dumb featuring American singer Ty Dolla $ign. It was released on 24th Jan (that seemed a popular day for new releases!).

PSYCHIC FEVER- What's Happenin

And finally, time for some J-pop! Here is What's Happenin, the brand-new single by Japanese boyband PSYCHIC FEVER. I also featured their previous single Paradise in last week's New Music for 2025 post.

What's Happenin is a romantic R'n'B song, with a mix of Japanese and English lyrics. The video premiered on 30th January. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles! :)

25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. New J.Lo and JoJo Music

Two singers I like, Jennifer Lopez and JoJo have new music out, so today I'm sharing it on the blog! Jennifer Lopez- Baila Conmigo First up is Jennifer Lopez, whose new song is the Spanish language Baila Conmigo (Dance with Me). It's a cover of the 2018 single by Dayvi featuring Kelly Ruiz . New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett.
