Dance in Public- More XG Dances

Sorry the 2nd post is later this week, I wasn't able to get it finished yesterday. :)

Back in March I wrote a post featuring dance covers of songs by Japanese girl group XG. You can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/03/dance-in-public-xg.html

Today I'm doing a follow up featuring more dances. They are covers of the singles from the group's debut mini album NEW DNA, which was released in September.

Note: As I've said before, while XG are Japanese, they are considered a global group and their singles so far have been in English, so that's why their dance cover videos tend to be listed as "Dance in Public" (and sometimes J-pop in Public or X-pop). :)

 

 [DANCE IN PUBLIC ONE TAKE] XG- GRL GVNG dance cover- Mermaids Taiwan

First up is a dance cover of GIRL GVNG, the first pre-release single from NEW DNA, which came out in June. The cover is performed by Mermaids Taiwan, a dance cover group from Taiwan.

The Mermaids have teamed up with some other dancers for this cover, which was uploaded in August. The dancers are Mermaid members EE as Chisa, Yi cin as Juria, Ling as Maya and Mia as Jurin, plus ShuShu from Zoomin as Cocona, Coling as Hinata and Zoe as Harvey. 

This is a one-take video, meaning it was shot all in one go.

[DANCE IN PUBLIC TIMES SQUARE] XG- GRL GVNG- Harmonyc Movement

Next is another GRL GVNG cover, this time by New York based K-pop dance cover team Harmonynyc Movement.

The video premiered in September and features Noor as Hinata, Wendy as Harvey, Vicky as Cocona, Cat as Maya, May as Jurin, Niki as Juria and Kaylah as Chisa.

[DANCE IN PUBLIC] XG 'TGIF'  DANCE COVER- PARADOX (UK)

Here is a cover of TGIF, the second pre-release single from the album, which came out in August. It's performed by Paradox. They are a UK based dance cover group consisting of 20 members.

The performance, which took place in Piccadilly Circus in London, features Paradox members (plus guest dancers from SEGNO Official and solo dancer Juju Bon. The dancers are Yana as Harvey, Liv as Jurin, Dyan as Hinata, Nami as Chisa, Rachel as Juria, Juju as Maya and Morgan as Cocona. The video was uploaded in October.

[DANCE IN PUBLIC | ONETAKE] XG-'TGIF Dance Cover by KIA

And here is another TGIF cover, this time by KIA, a dance group from Taiwan. KIA members Yun (dancing as Chisa), Juicc (Jurin), Rozie (Harvey), Leona (Juria) and Ling (Maya) are joined by Taeny from BOMMiE BOM (as Hinata) and HUI from ESKETIT (Cocona) to make up the full group.

The video premiered on 1st December.

[DANCE IN PUBLIC TIMES SQUARE] XG- NEW DANCE Dance Cover- Harmonyc Movement

Now we move onto NEW DANCE, the 3rd single which was released in August. This cover is also by Harmonyc Movement (see above for their GRL GVNG cover) and was uploaded in October.

The performance took place in Times Square in New York (as did their GRL GVNG one) and features Viva as Hinata, Linda as Harvey, Wendy as Cocona, Adina as Maya, Noor as Jurin, Annie as Juria and Gloria as Chisa. It was a rainy day but that didn't stop the girls!

[DANCE IN PUBLIC] XG- 'NEW DANCE'- ZOOMIN

NEW DANCE  was also covered by ZOOMIN, a dance group from Taiwan. One of the dancers in this video (Shu Shu who is Jurin) joined fellow Taiwanese group Mermaids for their cover of GRL GVNG this summer; see above).

The video was uploaded in October. I haven't listed all the dancers' names because some of them are Chinese and I can't write  them correctly. But you can see them listed (along with personal Instagram links), in the YouTube description box. :)

[KPOP ON CAMPUS ATLANTA PUPPET SHOW DANCE COVER- GT Seoulstice

And finally we come to the latest single PUPPET SHOW,  released the same day as the EP, in September. This is my favourite song from NEW DNA! :)

This dance cover is performed by GT Seoulstice. They are a dance team made up of  students from the American university Georgia Tech, in Atlanta. The video was uploaded in November and features dancers Chloe Ng, Gaby Tandra, Eileen Yang, Cam Hyde, Sophia Lin, Hannah Shin and Rachel Li.

[X-POP DANCE COVER] XG- PUPPET SHOW by RISIN'

And here is another cover by RISIN, from France, which was uploaded on 30th November. I like the red outfits, beautiful autumn colours and the Paris locations. :)

The dancers are Emma as Jurin, Laureen as Chisa, Gigi as Cocona, My as Mya, Dani as Juria, Lumi as Harvey and Ines as Hinata.

New J.Lo and JoJo Music

Two singers I like, Jennifer Lopez and JoJo have new music out, so today I'm sharing it on the blog! Jennifer Lopez- Baila Conmigo First up is Jennifer Lopez, whose new song is the Spanish language Baila Conmigo (Dance with Me). It's a cover of the 2018 single by Dayvi featuring Kelly Ruiz . Debut XG Mini Album

Japanese girl group XG have released their 1st mini album. It's called NEW DNA and was released on 27th September. XG (whose name is short for Xtraordinary Girls) made their debut in March last year and have brought out 7 singles so far- Tippy Toes, MASCARA, LEFT RIGHT/SHOOTING STAR double single), GVRL GANG , TGIF, NEW DANCE and PUPPET SHOW. The first 3 songs (or 4 including the double single) aren't on the mini album. The concept behind NEW DNA is that of being a "new species" free from conventions and limitations .  Although the group is Japanese, their creation was inspired by Korean music and they are based in South Korea. They have released songs in English so far and have been described as a global group and "X-pop". NEW DNA consists of 6 tracks- HESONO, X-GENE, GVRL GANG, TGIF, NEW DANCE and PUPPET SHOW. It is an R'n'B/pop mini album with influences from other genres, such as K-pop, dance and hip hop. My favourite song is PUPPET SHOW. I al
