Dance in Public- V-pop and P-pop Videos

Time for another dance post! Today I'm sharing some V-pop and P-pop Dance in Public videos (Vietnamese and Pinoy/Filipino dance covers performed in public).

 

[VPOP IN UNIVERSITY] Yeu Nam- BIGDADDY x EMILY- PHENIKKA ART CLUB

First up is a dance cover of the song YÊU NẮM by real life Vietnamese celebrity couple, rapper BigDaddy and singer Emily. The single was released in February (on Valentine's Day) and I featured both the music video and the dance cut video in my V-pop Music and Dance 2023-2024 post in April: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2024/04/v-pop-music-and-dance.html

The cover is performed by Phenikaa Art Club from Vietnam. I think they are a university based dance group, judging by the video title. 

The video was uploaded in March. See the YouTube description box for the names of the dancers. :)

[P-POP IN PUBLIC] BINI- Pantropiko Dance Cover- ABK CREW     

And here is a cover of the single Pantropiko by Filipina girl group BINI. Pantropiko was the 2nd pre-release single from their debut EP Talaarawan and came out last November. The EP  was released this March (on International Women's Day).

Pantropiko went viral on TikTok and sparked a dance craze. Despite being released in November and charting between the following February and April, it's thought of as a summer anthem. So it's fitting to share it now that summer has officially started! The song title translates as "Tropical" in English and the video is summer themed.

The dance cover is performed by ABK Crew. They are a dance cover crew which was established in 2017 and they are based in Adelaide, South Australia.

The video premiered in April. At the time it was autumn in Australia but the dance members wanted a summer vibe! The video was filmed in Rundle Mall in Adelaide and the dancers are Sam as Stacey, Rose as Mikha, Larissa as Jhoanna, Marred as Maloi, Trish as Colet, James as Gwen, Vann as Aiah and Georgia as Sheena.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
