It's American singer Ariana Grande's 30th birthday on Monday (26th June). In the past I've written posts for my favourite singers Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey's milestone bdays (50th). So here is Ariana's birthday post. :)
Ariana started out in showbusiness aged 13, when she played cheerleader Charlotte in the Broadway musical 13 in 2008. She went on to play Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon TV show Victorious, and later starred in Sam & Cat (a spin-off and Victorious and iCarly.
In December 2011 she released her debut single Put Your Hearts Up and also recorded music for the Victorious soundtrack.
Ariana's music career really got started in March 2013, when she released her single The Way featuring rapper Mac Miller. Mac, who later dated Ariana, sadly died in 2018.
The Way was the lead single from Ariana's debut album Yours Truly, which came out in August 2013. To date Ariana had released 5 more albums- My Everything (2014), Dangerous Woman (2016), Sweetener (2018), Thank U, Next (2019) and Positions (2020). And she has also brought out 2 Christmas EPs- Christmas Kisses (2013) and Christmas & Chill (2015).
Her hit singles include Problem featuring Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, Love Me Harder with Canadian singer The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye), Dangerous Woman, Side to Side featuring American rapper Nicki Minaj, no tears left to cry (written in lowercase), God is a woman, 7 rings, Rain on Me with American singer Lady Gaga, thank u, next, Positions and 34 + 35.
Arisna hasn't released an album since 2020's Positions but she featured on the remix of The Weeknd's Die for You earlier this year. They have also worked together on Ariana's single on off the table and The Weeknd's Save Your Tears remix.
She is currently filming the two-part of movie adaptation of the musical Wicked, playing the role of Glinda. The first part is set to be released in November next year (a day before American Thanksgiving).
Hre are the previous posts featuring Ariana on the blog. :)
Note: The Way was posted after Love Me Harder but I've listed it first because it was her first major single.

And here are a couple of videos I haven't previously featured. :)
Bed (with Nicki Minaj)
Back in summer 2018 Ariana teamed up with Trinidadian American rapper Nicki Minaj for the single Bed. They had previously worked together twice, on the popular single Bang Bang (alongside British singer Jessie J in 2014 and on Side to Side, the 2016 single from Ariana's Dangerous Woman album.
Nicki also featured on Ariana's song the light is coming (from Sweetener), which was also released in the summer of 2018.
Bed was the 2nd official single (and 3rd song overall) from Nicki's 4th studio album Queen, which was released in August 2018. The single came out in July that year.
Please note that the song is explicit. :)
Rule The World (with 2 Chainz)
In 2019 Ariana featured on the single Rule The World by American rapper 2 Chainz (real name Tauheed K. Epos). The song samples Why Don't We Fall in Love by Amerie (I didn't realise that until today!). Ariana and 2 Chainz also worked together for the remix of 7 rings (released in February that year).
Rule The World was the 2nd single from 2 Chainz' 5th album Rap or Go to the League. Both album and single were released in March 2019. I liked the song when it first came out but I'd forgotten what it was called! I remembered a few months ago and ended up buying it on iTunes.
Hope you enjoyed the post! Happy 30th Birthday Ariana! :)
