New Ariana Grande Album

American singer Ariana Grande just released a new album. It's her 6th studio album and is called Positions. It was a surprise to many that she was bringing out a new one! She made the announcement only 2 weeks before the release.

Positions was released on 30th October and consists of 14 tracks. The lead single is also called positions (written in lower case) and came out on 23rd October, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. It's currently No. 1 in the UK as well. The 2nd single 34 + 35 was released the same day as the album. pov has also charted.

Positions is a good album, similar to Ariana's previous releases. Good R'n'B songs with pop, trap and hip hop elements. My favourite tracks are positions, 34 + 35, off the table (with The Weeknd), safety net (featuring Ty Dolla $ign) and nasty. motive which features Doja Cat  , six thirty and west side are is growing on me as well.

So here are my fave songs. Most are audios, but I will update the post as and when there are any music or lyric videos.

Note: Most of the song titles are lower case. and some of the songs are explicit. :)

positions

First up is positions, the title single which came out on 23rd Oct. This is the official music video, starring Ariana as US President!

34 + 35

Next is 34 + 35, the second single which was released on 30th October. This is the official lyric video.

Update 17/11/20: The music video for 34 + 35 has just been posted:

off the table feat The Weeknd

Back in 2014 (can't believe that was 6 years ago now!) Ariana collaborated with Canadian singer The Weekend on the single Love Me Harder. That's still one of my favourite songs of Ariana's (and I like The Weeknd's part too). For the new album they teamed up again for the track off the table.

This is a slow, laid back duet about questioning whether a relationship is really over.

safety net feat. Ty Dolla $ign

safety net is about moving forward in a relationship, and features American singer Ty Dolla $ign. My fave part is the chorus.

nasty

Smooth song with a relaxing vibe. I've really been needing songs with a chilled vibe this year!

What do you think of Positions? What are your favourite songs? Which one do you think would make a good next single? I'd pick nasty. :)

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. They are probably one of the most well-known K-pop bands worldwide.  In June 2022, the group took a break while the members served their  mandatory military service in Korea and have also been concentrat...
