New Music Releases

Time for a New Music Releases post! (The last one was in May, so it's been a little while). So here are some new releases  from a variety of genres, for late summer/early autumn. :)

Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey- Don't Call Me Angel

First up is an Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey collaboration! The 3 stars have teamed up for Don't Call Me Angel, a song from the new Charlie's Angels film. They have different styles but I think they combine well on the song. The video premiered on 13th September.

Tiwa Savage- 49-99

This is 49-99 by Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, which came out on 5th September. It's sung in a Nigerian language/pidgin, I think. If you view the video on YouTube you can see the lyrics and also their meaning in English. :)

"49-99" is a term referring to a transit bus and how there are only 49 seats, but 99 passengers standing. The song is about the hard life many Nigerians go through. You can read can more about it here: https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/tiwa-savage-pays-homage-to-fela-kuti-on-49-99-release-new-song.1984421.html

Pia Mia & YG- Feel Up

Guam born singer Pia Mia  has a new song with American rapper YG called Feel Up. It was released on 6th September.  Please note that the song is explicit. :)

MONSTA X- LOVE U

Here's the new English single by Korean boyband Monsta X which just came out today. It's called LOVE U and is a sexy song about wanting to be intimate with a partner!

Tiësto, Mabel God Is a Dancer

Finally this another brand new song God Is A Dancer by  Dutch DJ Tiësto and Swedish/British singer Mabel. It was released today and the video premiered this afternoon (UK/European time).

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. They are probably one of the most well-known K-pop bands worldwide.  In June 2022, the group took a break while the members served their  mandatory military service in Korea and have also been concentrat...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...
