New Music Releases

It's been a while since I did a post about new music (the last one was in March) and also summer is starting, so here are some new songs for the new season! (Or new songs for winter you're in the Southern Hemisphere!)


Dua Lipa- Dance The Night 

British/Albanian singer Dua Lipa released Dance The Night (the lead single from the upcoming Barbie The Movie) in late May.

Tyla and Ayra Starr- Girl Next Door 

Two African stars recently teamed up for a new single. The song Girl Next Door features vocals from Tyla (South African) and Ayra Starr  (Nigerian). It came out on 11th May.  

This is the official music video and it also has the lyrics on the screen.



Gen Neo- Called it Love 

Singaporean singer Gen Neo released Called it Love at the end of last month. It's his 5th English single in all and follows Blame it On Me, RELAPSE (my favourite), In The Morning (all released last year) and Like California with Korean singer DeVita, which came out in January.

Called it Love is R'n'B ballad with pop influences, about addiction and the struggles of a relationship. This is the official lyric video and it was uploaded on 30th May.

P.S. It's his birthday tomorrow (or today since Singapore is ahead of the UK), so Happy Birthday Gen! :)


Coco Jones- Crazy For You (live performance)

Finally, here is a new video by American singer Coco Jones. She just released a live performance video for her song Crazy For You. It's from her latest EP What I Didn't Tell You, which came out last year, with a deluxe version released in January. 

Crazy For You is a smooth R'n'B song with a good beat. The video was uploaded on Thursday (15th June).

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
