New Music Releases

Sorry there was no second post last weekend, I wasn't feeling well. :)

Now here is some more new music that came out during February, from a variety of genres. :)

 

Ariana Grande feat. Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion- 34 + 35 Remix

First up here is the remix version of American singer Ariana Grande's single 34 + 35. The original single is from Ariana's 6th studio album Positions and came out in October. You can find it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2020/11/new-ariana-grande-album.html

The remix features singer Doja Cat and rapper Megan Thee Stallion and was released on 12th February. Please note that since 34 + 35 is about sex it contains explicit lyrics! The video is also quite sexual. :)

 

Ariana also just released the deluxe version of Positions. The new version features 5 news songs- the 34 + 35 remix,  someone like u (interlude), test drive, worst behavior and main thing. All song names are written in lower case.

CHUNG HA- Bicycle

Next is Bicycle, the new song by Korean singer Chung Ha. It's the 4th single from her debut full length studio album Querencia (Spanish for "Haunt) which came out on 15th February.

Bicycle contains a mixture of Korean and English lyrics, and was released on the same day as the album.

KANGDANIEL- PARANOIA

More K-pop! This is PARANOIA, the latest single by KANGDANIEL (also written as Kang Daniel, or Daniel Kang in the Western way).

The song is about being stuck in a paranoid state of mind, trapped by your own thoughts. It was released on 16th Feb. If you cluck "Subtitles/Closed captions" on YouTube, you can see English subtitles!


 

Jubin Nautiyal/Emraan Hashmi/Yukti- Lut Gaye

Finally, here is Lut Gayi, a new Hindi song. It's not from a Bollywood film, but a stand-alone music video. The song is sung by Jubin Nautiyal, and the video features one of my favourite Bollywood actors Emraan Hashmi and newcomer Yukti Thareja.

Lut Gaye is a romantic ballad and Emraan plays a Mumbai policeman who falls in love with Yukti, the bride he rescues after she runs away from her wedding.  Read more about the song and video here: https://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/music/lut-gaye-music-video-emraan-hashmi-tanishk-bagchi-7192533/

Lut Gaye was released on 17th February.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
