For the past two years I've done posts featuring new music for the new year. Now we're at the start of a new year once again (and a new decade) so here is some music for 2020!

I will do a couple of posts and feature music in a variety of genres this time (last year I split them up), so here is Part 1. :)


Niza x Young Zerka- LET ME THRU

First up is LET ME THRU by Swiss producer Niza and Albanian reggae singer Young Zerka. It's from their joint EP  High Five, released in December.

LET ME THRU is one of my current favourite songs and I recently bought it on iTunes. It was released on 30th December, so technically came out at the end of 2019, but I thought I'd include it!  It's an English language song. :)

MOMOMLAND- Thumbs Up

Next is some K-pop! Korean girl group Momoland (also written as MOMOLAND) are back with the new song Thumbs Up. The group has seen some line-up changes recently, with Daisy currently in a dispute with their agency and Taeha and Yeonwoo leaving. Now the girls have made a comeback as a 6 member group with the new song Thumbs Up.

It's from their new single album, also called Thumbs Up, which was released on 30th December. If you watch the video on YouTube you can see English subtitles! (Just click "Subtitles/closed captions).



Justin Bieber- Yummy

Yummy is a new song by Canadian singer Justin Bieber. It's been ages since he released anything but in the past  year he got married to Hailey Baldwin (daughter of actor Stephen) twice and has revealed that he has Lyme disease.

Now he's back with the new single Yummy and the video premiered on 4th January.



Malang Title Song Video

Now we move onto Bollywood! This  is the title song from the new film Malang, which is due out on 7th February.  (Not to be confised with the song Malang from Dhoom:3). It's about Advait (played by Aditya Roy Kapur) who visit Goa and meets Sara (Disha Patani) who has come to India from England. She wants to live like a vagabond (malang). But something happens which changes everything.

5 years later we meet  Inspector Agashe (Anil Kapoor), a policeman who's gone vigilante and Michael Rodrigues (Kunal Keemu) who follows the rules. There is a connection between them, Advait and Sara, but what is it?

The playback singer for Malang is Ved Sharma, who also composed the song. The video was uploaded on 15th January.

Dhvani Bhanushali- Na Ja Tu

This is Na Ja Tu, a new single by Indian singer Dhvani Bhanushali. She is best known for singing the new version of Dilbar from the film Satyameva Jayate. She started her carer with the song Ishtare Tere from the movie Welcome To New York and has been a playback singer for several other films.

Na Ja Tu was released on 11th January.

 Jhené Aiko- P*$$Y FAIRY (OTW)

Finally here's a new song by American singer Jhené Aiko. It's called P*$$Y FAIRY and as you can tell by the title, it's explicit! In the video which was uploaded yesterday, Jhené is dancing with a man (I don't know what his name is, let me know if you know!). According to the comments on YouTube, it's the choreography from Aaliyah's One in a Million.

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. New J.Lo and JoJo Music

Two singers I like, Jennifer Lopez and JoJo have new music out, so today I'm sharing it on the blog! Jennifer Lopez- Baila Conmigo First up is Jennifer Lopez, whose new song is the Spanish language Baila Conmigo (Dance with Me). It's a cover of the 2018 single by Dayvi featuring Kelly Ruiz . Debut XG Mini Album

Japanese girl group XG have released their 1st mini album. It's called NEW DNA and was released on 27th September. XG (whose name is short for Xtraordinary Girls) made their debut in March last year and have brought out 7 singles so far- Tippy Toes, MASCARA, LEFT RIGHT/SHOOTING STAR double single), GVRL GANG , TGIF, NEW DANCE and PUPPET SHOW. The first 3 songs (or 4 including the double single) aren't on the mini album. The concept behind NEW DNA is that of being a "new species" free from conventions and limitations .  Although the group is Japanese, their creation was inspired by Korean music and they are based in South Korea. They have released songs in English so far and have been described as a global group and "X-pop". NEW DNA consists of 6 tracks- HESONO, X-GENE, GVRL GANG, TGIF, NEW DANCE and PUPPET SHOW. It is an R'n'B/pop mini album with influences from other genres, such as K-pop, dance and hip hop. My favourite song is PUPPET SHOW. I al
