Teen Mom OG
Season 8 of Teen Mom OG (short for "Original Girls") is a little different to past series, since original mum Farrah Abraham has now left the show and two new girls have joined- Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd. Read more about the girls below.
Bristol Palin
Bristol, 28, the daughter of former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, became a teen mum almost 10 years ago when she gave birth to son Tripp Easton Mitchell in December 2008. Her pregnancy was announced when her mum was running for the position of American Vice President. (I remember all the fuss about Bristol being pregnant at the time!). She got engaged to Tripp's dad Levi Johnston, but they split up in March 2009.
In 2015 Bristol got together with former US Marine Dakota Meyer and had their first child together, daughter Sailor Grace in December 2015, and a 2nd daughter Atlee Bay in June 2017. Bristol and Dakota got married in June 2016, but sadly announced that they had separated this February. On the show we see how they were struggling in their marriage, in part because Dakota suffers PTSD from his time serving in Afghanistan. He was the only surviving member of his platoon.
The couple's divorce was finalised in August. We'll see more on on the show about how things unfolded for them both, and Tripp, now 9, Sailor, 3 and Atlee 1.

Cheyenne Floyd
25 year old Cheyenne was previously on reality shows Are You The One? and The Challenge: Rivals 3. She met Cory Wharton on The Challenge and got pregnant with daughter Ryder after sleeping with him during The Challenge reunion. She gave birth to Ryder in April 2017, but didn't tell Cory about her till she was 6 months old. Ryder has a rare genetic disorder called VCLAD. Teen Mom follows Cheyenne and Cory co-parenting their daughter, and also Cheyenne's relationship with boyfriend Zach who has moved in with her and Ryder.
Some people have questioned Cheyenne's involvement in the show, since she isn't/wasn't a teen mum. (She had Ryder when she was 23). I admit that I was a bit puzzled about her inclusion myself, but she has said how she's still a young mum and has other struggles that people can relate to. And to be fair, none of the other mums are teen mothers now either! They're all in their mid 20s.

Both Bristol and Cheyenne have caused controversy, Bristol for anti-gay comments and Cheyenne for old racist Tweets about white people. Cheyenne has since said that the tweets no longer represent who she is, especially as the mum of a baby with a biracial dad.
There have been other changes in the Teen Mom OG universe! We saw Amber Portwood give birth to baby James, her first child with new boyfriend Andrew Glennon. James joins big sister Leah,who turns 10 this month. Her father is Amber's ex Gary Shirley. Amber has been having a had time due to mental health issues, and recently said she's quitting Teen Mom. Nothing has been confirmed yet though.
Maci has had a difficult time with her 10 year old son Bentley's dad Ryan, who has struggled with drug addition. In last week's episode we saw Maci and her husband Taylor (father of her younger kids Jayde, 3 and Maverick, 2) apply for a restraining order against Ryan, after her threatened them. (The order doesn't affect him time with Bentley). Ryan was arrested for drug possession in July and is currently in rehab. He sadly missed the birth of his first child with wife Makenzie Standifer, Jagger Ryan, but Mackenzie says he is doing well. Mackenzie also has 4 year old son Hudson with her ex. Catelyyn and Tyler also went through hard time, with Catelynn miscarrying their third child. They have 9 year old daughter Carly who was adopted as a baby (it's an open adoption, meaning they have occasional visits with Carly and her adoptive family) and 3 year old daughter Nova (Novalee). Catelynn went into rehab again after struggling to cope and having suicidal thoughts. Tyler found it a strain dealing with family and work life on his own. Catelynn recently announced that she is pregnant again, so we will get to follow the pregnancy in the new series.

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant
The first series/season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant was shown earlier this year. S2 started in the US on 15th October, and is due to start here next week. This Wednesday there was a special where the girls reacted to tweets about previous episodes, and we saw some clips from the upcoming new series.
We'll get to catch up with Lexi Tatman, her boyfriend Kyler Lopez and their son Tobias, Kayla Sessler, her ex Stephan Alexander and their little boy Izaiah, Brianna Jaramillo and son Braeson, Jade Cline, partner Sean Austin and daughter Kloie, and Ashley Jones, her fiance Bar (Bariki) Smith and their little girl Holly.
I'm not sure if Brianna's ex-boyfriend Danae will still be appearing on the show because they broke-up at the end of S1. Braeson's dad is an old friend who Brianna slept while on a break from Danae. Danae is a transgender man and I think it's good that their relationship and transgender issues was shown in television. Brianna is now wondering where Braeson's dad should be involved in his life.
Kayla has had an up and down relationship with Stephan and earlier this year she took out a protection order against him after he attacked her. I hope they can sort things out as co-parents and Stephan can get help for his anger issues.
