Dance Videos

It's been a while since I've written a general dance videos post (I think the last one was a year ago!). So today I'm sharing a variety of videos from different genres. :) 

 

[DANCE IN PUBLIC SPAIN - ONE TAKE] TYLA MIX - MINIZIZE Choreo |Dance Cover by NEOLIGHT

First up, an amapiano dance cover! Last year, Thai dance studio MINIZIZE performed a dance cover of several songs  by South African singer Tyla- PUSH 2 START, Jump and the remix of her hit single Water.  The dance was choreographed by Thai choreographer Earth_prompen and the video was uploaded in January 2025. Water was released in July 2023, the lead single from Tyla's debut self-titled album (which came out in March 2024) and is one of her most successful singles to date. Jump was the 4th single from TYLA (released in May 2024)  and PUSH 2 START came out in October 2024, alongside the deluxe edition of the album, TYLA+.

The dance cover was popular, quite a few dance groups  uploaded their own versions. Most of the covers I've seen are Dance in Public  ones (dance covers of songs performed in public places). While I think the whole Dance in Public trend started with K-pop in Public videos (dance covers of K-pop songs performed in public places), it's grown to include other genres (such as other types of Asian music,  Western and African songs) which is cool.

This cover is by NEOLIGHT a K-pop dance cover crew based in Spain.  The video is a one take (meaning it was filmed all in one go) and premiered in January.

[DANCE COVER IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE] GIRLSET - 'TWEAK' Dance Cover by PRISMA

And here is another Dance in Public cover, this time of Tweak by American girl group GIRLSET. While the group is American, they were formed using the K-pop system, so their dance covers are sometimes listed as K-pop in Public.

This one is performed by PRISMA Dance Crew, a K-pop dance cover crew from Melbourne, Australia. The video premiered in May. It's also a one take and features Joanna as Lexi, Karissa as Camila, Jia Jia as Kendall and Marysa as Savannah.

Tobii - Tap Tap | DANCE PERFORMANCE  BY KDC STATION | Thailand.

In my T-pop/Dance in Public Videos in May, I shared a dance cover of Tap Tap, a recent single by Thai/Swiss rapper and R'n'B singer Tobii. It's from his debut album Mr Saxo Love, which came out in February. There's also a version that features Thai/British rapper and singer GAVIN:D (released in April) but I think that most of the dance covers are of the solo version.

Now here is another dance performance of Tap Tap. This one is performed by KDC STATION from Thailand and it was choreographed by AOOMSRI, who is also one of the dancers. It was uploaded in April. See the video info box on YouTube for the rest of the dancers' names.

I think it's cool that they also have male dancers; makes it a bit different and I like the dynamic between the female and male dancers. :)

Brazilian Dance Move* EASY DANCE TUTORIAL (beginner friendly)- Veeva Banga Dance

And finally, here is something a bit different! I've shared dance tutorial videos in these posts before, such as Afro dance ones. In 2019 I featured a Latin dance choreography by Brazilian YouTuber and dancer Ramona Borna, plus a link to a tutorial for how to do the Brazilian twerk. Now here is another Brazilian dance tutorial. In this video, African dance artist Veeva Banga Dance (who is based in the US) teaches an easy dance move for the dance Passinho Do Jamal. She explains it in an easy to understand way. :)

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is The Way You Move by American singer JayDon . His real name is JayDon McCrary (his previous stage name was J.D. McCrary) and he started out as a child actor, appearing on a couple of episodes of American TV series K.C. Undercover  in 2015 and going on to voice Young Simba in the 2019 remake of The Lion King .  In January 2018, JayDon released his official debut single Inviting All of You, going on to become the youngest solo artist  to sign with Hollywood Records (part of Disney Music Group ) that summer. He also released the single My Name in August and his debut EP followed in April 2019. Last year, JayDon changed his stage name from J.D. McCrary to his birth name JayDon and released his first single under that name in November, Ah!
