Weekly Music Video

Today's video is Massacre from the new Bollywood film ALPHA. It stars Alia Bhatt  (part of the famous Bhatt family) as Sita, an assassin who was raised in isolation from a baby by rogue commander Fateh Singh Lakhwat (played by Bobby Deol, one of my favourite Bollywood actors!).  

Fateh trained Sita to be a super soldier but when she finds out that he's hidden the truth of her family background from her, she teams up with her long lost sister Durga (Sharvari) to stop him and his mission.

Random fact: Alia Bhatt is a British citizen, due to her mum, actress and director Soni Razdan being British (Soni's mum is British with German heritage and her dad is Indian (Kashmiri Pandit). Alia's dad is former film director, producer and screenwriter Mahesh Bhatt.

ALPHA (which also stars Anil Kapoor) was released on 3rd July. It's part of the YRF Spy Universe film series (the 7th instalment) and the first female led movie. The others include Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019) and Pathaan (2023). The first 3 were released as stand alone films but later became part of the series. 

The playback singers for Massacre are Shilpa Rao, Jonita Gandhi, Rohansh Pandit and Abeer Pandit. Rohansh and Abeer are the sons of Lalit Pandit, one half of music director duo Jatin-Lalit with his brother (and the boys' uncle) Lalit. They made their film composer debut with ALPHA.

The music video was uploaded on 7th July and starts Alia and Sharvari. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles. :)

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. Weekly Music Video

This week's video is The Way You Move by American singer JayDon . His real name is JayDon McCrary (his previous stage name was J.D. McCrary) and he started out as a child actor, appearing on a couple of episodes of American TV series K.C. Undercover  in 2015 and going on to voice Young Simba in the 2019 remake of The Lion King .  In January 2018, JayDon released his official debut single Inviting All of You, going on to become the youngest solo artist  to sign with Hollywood Records (part of Disney Music Group ) that summer. He also released the single My Name in August and his debut EP followed in April 2019. Last year, JayDon changed his stage name from J.D. McCrary to his birth name JayDon and released his first single under that name in November, Ah!
