Dance in Public- Summer Vibes!

Sorry the 2nd post is later this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) 

Summer is in full swing and it's been feeling like it lately, with heatwaves in the UK! I've written quite a few summer themed posts on the blog over the years and I'm planning to do another one featuring summer songs soon. This week though I thought I'd do something a bit different- share some Dance in Public (dance covers of songs performed in public places) videos with summer vibes! :)

 

[P-POP IN PUBLIC] BINI- Pantropiko Dance Cover- ABK CREW     

In summer 2024 I featured a dance cover of the 2023 single Pantropiko by Filipina girl group BINI in my Dance in Public- V-pop and P-pop Videos posy. BINI are known as the "Summer Queens" of P-pop (Pinoy/Filipino pop), due to releasing summer themed music and Pantropiko (which translates as "Tropical" in English) is one of the songs that earned them that nickname  It was the 2nd pre-release single from their debut EP Talaarawan and came out in November 2023.

BINI 'BIKINI' Dance Cover by Red PH

Here is another BINI dance cover, this time of their song BIKINI. It's from their 3rd studio album FLAMES which was released last November. It wasn't released as a single but became popular in the cover dance world.

The cover is performed by Red PH, a dance cover group from Naga City, Bicol Region. The group was established in 2018. 

The video (which was uploaded in March) was filmed on the beach. The dancers are JAZLYN, GILL, DEANNE, SHANTA, JOY, VANNAH, KRISTINA and ELLA JANE.

BINI | 'Blush' Dance Cover by IVY PH

And here's one more dance cover of the Summer Queens' music! This time it's Blush, BINI's recent song, which is from, their latest EP Signals (released in April). It's described as an "anthem for a summer crush".

The dance cover is by IVY PH, a dance group from the Philippines. They also covered Bikini (see above) and it went viral on TikTok. So here is their follow-up cover of Blush. They describe it as bringing all the island energy"!

The video premiered on 15th June and features Zofi as Aiah, Bea as Stacey, Maia as Colet, Yestine as Sheena, Ren as Gwen, Shane as Mikha, Erika as Jhoanna and Yana as Maloi.

[DANCE COVER IN PUBLIC | ONE TAKE] HYOLYN 'Wait'- HANAMI

In November 2024 I shared a dance cover of WAIT by Korean singer HYOLYN ((former member of girl group SISTAR (who have now disbanded) and current member of the sub-unit SISTAR19) in my K-pop in Public- Solo Edition post, plus links to more covers. It was released in July 2024 and its tropical island themed music video inspired my post Island Vibes!.

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is DMC by Myles Lloyd , GEMINI , Karencici and JUNNY . Myles is a Canadian R'n'B singer-songwriter from Montreal. He is an independent singer, and released his first song Step Down in August 2017 and his debut album Goodbye in September 2019. His other albums include Forever Yours (2022) and WHAT MORE CAN I SAY ? (2024). His recent singles include Closer, Grapevine and Voodoo. DMC is a newer version/remix of Drive Me Crazy, which Myles originally released in November 2024. A music video premiered in July 2025.  For DMC, Myles teamed up with South Korean R'n'B/alternative artist GEMINI, Chinese American singer Karencici and fellow Canadian singer-songwriter JUNNY. GEMINI (real name Kim Jae-Min)  debuted in 2020 , appearing on   Jay Park's  and Cha Malone's  record label H1GHR MUSIC's  compilation album [HIGHR : BLUE TAPE]. * He went on to sign with record label AT AREA and released his debut single Going.
