C-pop Saturday

Time for the first C-pop Saturday post of the year. If you're new to Star Sparkle, it's my semi-regular series (which I started in 2018) sharing Chinese music. Today I'm sharing a selection of pop and R'n'B songs released in the past few months. :)

DOLLA feat. Elva Suyan- MWAH!

Malaysian girl group DOLLA teamed up with Malaysian rapper Elva Suyan for the Chinese version of their single MWA! The original single was released in May 2024 and is a mixture of Malay and English lyrics.

The Chinese version came out last November. This is the official lyric video. It's a mixture of Chinese and English lyrics, and the Chinese lyrics were co-written by Elva.

And I also featured a live performance of the song in my recent Asian Girl Groups' Live Performances post: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/01/asian-girl-groups-live-performances.html

WayV- Eternal White

Next up, some music from WayV, the Chinese sub-unit of Korean boyband NCT. It's their most recent single and the title track from their special album Eternal White (Winter Special Album), which was released in December last year. Eternal White is the group's 8th Chinese EP (and 9th overall including their debut Japanese EP The Highest).

Eternal White is a dance pop song with a mix of Chinese (Mandarin) and English lyrics. It's about wanting to break through the frozen/white winter time and keep moving forward. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles! :)

Eternal White was also released in December.

Karencici- Chinese title (My Fault)

Here is the latest single from Chinese American singer Karencici (which follows i'm like that featuring Korean rapper Loco in November). It translates as "My Fault" in English.

My Fault is a slow R'n'B song and was released on 26th January. English subtitles available! :)

Grace- Refund

Finally, this is Refund by Grace. Her full name is Gracia Jonwilin (Chinese name Lin Shiya) and she is an Indonesian singer who is a member of the Taiwanese girl group HUR+

Refund is her new single. I'm not sure if she's released solo music before but she has uploaded covers. It's a gentle pop/dance song (with English, Indonesian and Chinese lyrics which is cool), about a relationship going wrong and wanting a "refund"!

This is the official visualiser and premiered on 20th February. English, Indonesian and Chinese subtitles are available! :)

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. They are probably one of the most well-known K-pop bands worldwide.  In June 2022, the group took a break while the members served their  mandatory military service in Korea and have also been concentrat...
