Sorry the 2nd post is later this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :)
Here is the next instalment in my Asian Groups series! Today I'm featuring Malaysian girl group DOLLA and Filipino boy band 6ENSE. It's actually my first time sharing music from a Malaysian girl group! :)
DOLLA
DOLLA was formed in 2019 by Universal Music Malaysia, starting out as a 4-piece. However, member Syasha (Noorsyasa Afiqah Shahrizal) left last month, so they are now a trio. The other members are Sabronzo (real name Wan Sabrina Wan Rusli), Tabby (full name Tabitha Ariel Lam Lianne) and Angel (Angelina Chai Ka Ying).
All the girls are from Malaysia but they have different ethnicities- Sabronzo and Syasha are Malay, Angel is Chinese and Tabby is Chinese and Japanese. (Chinese Malaysians are the second largest ethnic group in Malaysia after Malays.)
The group released their debut single Dolla Make You Wanna in March 2020. In February 2022 they brought out their first mini album, DOLLA: Mini Album and their debut studio album NEW CLASSIC was released last November.
DOLLA's music styles include pop, R'n'B and hip hop, and they sing in both Malaysian and English. To date they have released 15 singles, including their debut, Impikan, Watch Me Glow (the English version of Impikan), Berani, BAD , DAMELO with Hard Lights, CLASSIC and their latest, BO$$ UP.
Dolla Make You Wanna
This is Dolla Make You Wanna, the group's debut single. It was released in March 2020 and is mostly Malaysian language, with a few English lines.
DAMELO feat. Hard Lights
This is DAMELO, which was the first single from the debut album NEW CLASSIC. It's a collaboration with Malaysian dance music producer Hard Lights and was released last August.
It's mostly Malaysian/Malay with some Spanish lyrics. Damelo translates as "Give it to me" in English. Clik "Subtitles/closed captions on YouTube for English subtitles! :)
There's also an English version. Watch the lyric video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh2q7D1ItkM
CLASSIC
Here is CLASSIC, the second single from NEW CLASSIC. It's an English song and came out last November.
BO$$ UP
And finally, here is BO$$ UP, the girls' latest single and the third one from NEW CLASSIC. It's also an English song and was released in February. As with the other videos, this was filmed when the group was still a quartet (prior to Syasha leaving in April).
This is the dance performance video.

6ENSE
6ENSE started out as a pre-debut group but they've now made their official debut. They started out with 6 members but currently have 8. Their name is pronounced like "6 sense" and their original motto was, "Six as one! We are 6ENSE!" The meaning behind it is the 6 degrees of separation (everyone in the world being connected by 6 people) and the members themselves always being connected. They are a "sixth sense" when they come together.
The group was formed by BC Entertainment in 2022 and members were introduced one at a time during July that year (kind of like Korean girl group tripleS, although their 24 members were revealed over 2 years!). The original 6 members are (in order of unveiling) Sevi, Pen, Jai, Wiji, Drew and Saki.
They released their first pre-debut single 6oodBoy in December 2022 and their second pre-debut single Hindi Na came out the following February.
2023 saw some changes to the 6ENSE line-up. On May, Saki left the band due to legal reasons. Pen also took a break and in the summer two new members joined, Lee and Clyn.
And in July the group announced that they had left their agency because they had been treated badly and would now be independent artists. However, I think they are currently under BLVCK Entertainment.
Since then 6ENSE have released a few cover songs including, LIHAM by fellow P-pop boy band SB19. And in April they made their official debut with the single H.U.G. Pen has also returned as an active member.
6oodBoy
This is 6oodBoy, their first pre-debut single. It's an English language song with sexy lyrics, where the group sing about the fact that they are not good boys! lol.
It was released in December 2022 and the video features the original line-up of 6 members.
Hindi Na
Hindi Na was 6ENSE's 2nd pre-debut single. It's a reflective ballad and was released in February 2023. This is the official music video.
There's also a story version video (with English subtitles!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvAWpp6fh5E
H.U.G.
And here is H.U.G., their debut single. The title stands for "Hate U Give" and is about "hate culture" on social media. It was released on 3rd May.
The video showcases the current 8-member line-up.
There's also a dance performance video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7MTVHTCr1c
