Valentine's Vibes!

It's Valentine's Day, so today's post is love themed! Here is a round-up of some previous posts on the blog relating to love and romance, plus a couple of  songs I haven't posted. (Not every single post featuring a love song because there would be too many!) lol. :)

Coco Jones- On Sight

American singer Coco Jones released the single On Sight in April last year. It's a smooth R'n'B song, with a music video that sees Coco become fixated on potential love interests!

LONA- VÃŒ YÊU ANH ( Dance Version)

In April 2024 I included Vietnamese singer LONA's single Vì Yêu Anh (Dance Version) in my V-pop Music and Dance 2023-2024 round-up post. The Dance Version was released in December 2023 and there's also a White Valentine Version and a Chill (karaoke) version, which came out in March and May 2024 respectively.

The title translates as "Because I Love You" in English and I think it's about being in love with someone who doesn't feel as strongly about you. I used Google Translate, so if you're a Vietnamese speaker, please let me know if that's right! :)

LONA-  VÃŒ YÊU ANH (White Valentine version)

And here is the video for the White Valentine version. It's an audio. This is slower and softer than the dance version.

BIGDADDY x EMILY- YÊU NẮM 

In the same post I also featured by YÊU NẮM by real life Vietnamese celebrity couple, rapper BigDaddy (real name Tran Tat Vu) and singer Emily (Emily Nguyen/Nguyen Huong Ly). It was released on Valentine's Day 2024 (with the video premiering a day before). I think the title is "Love Hold" or "Holding Love" in English.

There's an R'n'B version too (see below). I think this one is more pop/dance.

BIGDADDY x EMILY- YÊU NẮM (R&B Version)

And here is the R'n'B version. It was produced by Vietnamese music producer and singer Machiot  and released on 23rd February 2024.

Majid Jordan- Violet

I first heard Violet by Canadian duo Majid Jordan (made up of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman) in  2024. It's from their 4th studio album Good People / Afterhours which was released in November 2023. My favourite song from the album is Hands Tied and I featured it as a Weekly Music Video in January 2024.

I also like Violet (I  bought both Hands Tied and Violet on iTunes 2 years ago) and thought it would be good to include in this post! It was the 3rd single from the album (following Waiting for You featuring Caribbean/Dutch singer Naomi Sharon and Hands Tied) and was released in October 2023.

Violet is a chilled R'n'B track with romantic vibes! It's a long song too, at 7 minutes, 20 seconds. This is the official lyric video.

 

 

Tobii- Saxo Love

Finally, here is Saxo Love by Swiss/Thai rapper and R'n'B singer Tobii, which was released last June. Much like his 204 single X mas Love fits the festive season, this one is good for Valentine's Day!

It's a sexy song with a mix of Thai and English lyrics. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles! :) 

Please note that the lyrics are quite explicit in a "suggestive" way.

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026.
