Island Vibes!

It's already mid-August and summer is going by fast! Last month I wrote a post called Vibes for Your Summer, which you can see here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2024/07/vibes-for-your-summer.html

And today I'm sharing more summer themed videos to celebrate the season, this time featuring island and beach vibes! :)

Cassper Nyovest feat. Boskasie

South African rapper Cassper Nyovest's single Move For Me was a Weekly Music Video back in 2019. It features singer Boskasie , and also stars Casspar and his love interest (model Jessica Burciaga) on an exotic getaway!

Hawaiian Hula

This month it was the one-year anniversary since the fire in Lahaina, which was devastating for the local community. I'm thinking of them as they continue to recover. :)

W.i.S.H- Headrush

Dinah Jane- Ocean Song

In May Dinah Jane (full name Dinah Jane Hansen; a member of American girl group Fifth Harmony turned solo), released the single Ocean Song. It showcases her Polynesian culture- she has Tongan and Samoan heritage (as well as Fijian and Danish).

In the description box on YouTube, Dinah shares that Ocean Song started out as a love song but evolved into a personal prayer to her ancestors.

The song is nice and relaxing, and it's great to see the Polynesian dancing in the video. :)

HYOLYN- Wait

And finally, here is Wait, the video that inspired this post! It's the music video for the new single from Korean singer HYOLYN (real name Kim Hyo-jung or Hyo-jung Kim in Western terms). She is a member of K-pop girl group SISTAR and its sub-unit SISTAR19. While the main SISTAR group disbanded in 2017, SISTAR19 (consisting of Hyolyn and Bora) made a comeback in January this year, with their single No More (Ma Boy).

Wait is a digital single and came out on 12th July. It's Hyolyn's first solo single in a year, her previous single being This Love with Korean Canadian rapper Paul Blanco (released in July 2023). It's a mixture of Korean and English lyrics.

The video was released 12th August and features Hyolyn on "Wait Island". It was filmed on an island in the Philippines. Perfect island vibes!
