Time for a New Music Releases post! My last one was in May. You can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2024/05/new-music-releases.html
Now we're coming to the end of summer (or winter in the Southern Hemisphere) and starting a new month and season. So here's some new music, including K-pop and R'n'B. :)
KARD- Tell My Momma
First up, some K-pop! This is Tell My Momma, the latest single by Korean group KARD. It's from their 7th mini album Where To Now? Part 1 : Yellow Light), which was released on 13th August.
Tell My Momma is about reaching the stage in a new relationship where you want to tell your mother about your partner. It's mostly English language with some Korean lyrics (in J.Seph's rap).
The music video premiered on the same day as the mini album came out and there's also a lyric video (see below).

thủy feat. CHUNG HA- hair down (remix)
Vietnamese American singer thủy recently released a remix of her single hair down, which was released back in April. (The song title is written in lower case, like thủy's name.) For the remix teamed up with Korean singer CHUNG HA (a former member of now disbanded K-pop girl I.O.I turned solo star).
thủy and CHUNG HA have also recently brought out solo singles (see below). It's nice to see pan-Asian collabs. thủy also recently released the single twin flames with Filipina singer Denise Julia (which I've linked to below). :)
hair down was released on 19th July. The music video (which was filmed in Seoul, the capital of South Korea) premiered on 12th August.

CHUNG HA- Algorithm
CHUNG HA (also written as Chungha) has released a new single of her own, Algorithm. It's a special digital single and came out on 28 August.
Algorithm is a K-pop/dance song. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles! :)
thủy- cloud 11
And here is thủy's brand-new single cloud 11. It was released on 30th August. I like the "dreamy pop" vibe of the song. :)
ONE OR EIGHT- Don't Tell Nobody
Last week's Weekly Music Video was Don't Tell Nobody by Japanese boy band ONE OR EIGHT, which was released on 16th August. Watch it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2024/08/weekly-music-video_28.html
Coco Jones- Sweep It Up
Next up is Sweep It Up, the new single by American singer Coco Jones. It came out on 16th August.
Sweep It Up is a laid back R'n'B song. This is the visualiser. Both the track and the video are reminiscent of late 90s/early 00s music.
Update 1/9/24: Coco also recently did a song with Disney. She released a lyric video for her version of Almost There, a song from the sounftack of the 2009 Disney animation The Princess and the Frog. Watch the lyric video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wYh4VV65j0
Mabel- Chat
And finally, this is Chat, the brand-new single by British/Swedish singer Mabel. It had been a while since Mabel released new music, but she made a comeback earlier this year.
Chat was released yesterday (30th August and follows her previous 2024 singles Vitamins, Look at My Body Pt. II featuring Shygirl and last month's Female Intuition.
Mabel describes Chat as a summer song and simple love song. Perfect vibes for the end of summer! This is the official visualiser, which was debuted at last weekend's Notting Hill Carnival in London. The video was also filmed at the carnival.
