New Music for 2020- Part 2

Alina Baraz- Trust

First  of all here is Trust, a new song by American singer Alina Baraz. It's an audio and was uploaded on 20th January. If you watch the video on YouTube you can see the lyrics in the description. :)



Lolo Zouai- Desert Rose (Official video)

Next is the official video for French/Algerian American singer Lolo Zouai's single Desert Rose. The song was originally released (or at least uploaded online) in 2018 and I first heard it last year. Desert Rose (which is from Lolo's 2019 album High Highs to High Lows) has now been released as a single and the video premiered on 22nd Jan.



Tayna x Mozzik- Edhe ti

This is Edhe ti by Kosovo Albanian rappers Tayna and Mozzik. Tayna is probably most well known for the 2018 single Colombiana with DJ Phenom.

 Edhi ti translates from Albanian as "You too" in English  and came out on 22nd January.

(B.O.Y)- My Angel

Now for some K-pop! This is My Angel by Korean duo B.O.Y.  The duo is made up of Kookheon (real name Kim Guk Heon) and Yu Vin (full name Song Yu Vin), both former members of boyband MYTEEN.* They also go by B Of You and I think B.O.Y could also stand for  "Best of You" and "Both of You". They debuted on New Year's Eve (31st Dec).

My Angel was released on 7th January and is on B.OY's first mini album Phase One: YOU. The meaning behind the video is that one member is the sun and the other is the moon (sorry, I can't remember which is which!) and they're searching for each other.

E-girls- Easy come, Easy go

Now for some J-pop! Easy Come Easy Go is a new song by Japanese girl group E-girls and it was released on 29th Jan on the EP of the same name.





Burna Boy feat. Jeremih and  Serani

Finally here is Secret, the new single by Nigerian singer Burna Boy. It features American singer Jermih and Jamaican dancehall artist Serani and is from Burna Boy's latest album African Giant. The audio was originally released last July and the video uploaded on 24th January.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
