It's a new year, so time for some new music! Since 2017 I've been writing posts sharing new music releases for the new year. You can see 2024's at the links below:

So here are some new releases from a variety of genres. :)


KARD- Detox

First up, some K-pop! This is Detox, the latest single by Korean mixed gender/co-ed group KARD. It was actually released in December but I thought I'd include it. :)

The group released their 7th mini album Where To Now? Part 1: Yellow Light last summer, along with the singles Tell My Momma and SPIN.  Detox is a stand-alone/non-album single but it may be intended for Part 2 of Where To Now? in the future.

Detox is a pop/dance song about "detoxing" from all the outside negativity and finding the meaning of love for yourself. It's mostly English language with a Korean and English rap from J.seph.

This is the visualiser, which premiered on 17th December.

PSYCHIC FEVER- Paradise

Now we move on to J-pop! This is Paradise by Japanese boyband PSYCHIC FEVER from EXILE TRIBE. It's their 7th digital single and will be the theme song for their first US tour, which is set to take place from 2nd to 14th February.

Paradise is a love song with R'n'B and disco vibes. The video premiered on 10th January.

Yemi Alade feat Konshens and Femi One- Baddie (Remix

Here is some Afrobeats meets Jamaican dancehall. Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has released a remix of her song Baddie. The original single was released back in October 2022 and it was from her 2022 EP African Baddie.

For the remix, Yemi has teamed up with Jamaican dancehall recording artist and DJ Konshens and Kenyan rapper Femi One. It was released on 15th January.

BANKS- Love Is Unkind

Finally, here is Love Is Unkind, the brand-new single by American singer BANKS (real name Jillian Banks). It will be on her upcoming 5th album Off With Her Head (a follow-up to 2022's Serpentina), which is due out on 28th February.

Love Is Unkind comes after the previous singles I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend featuring American rapper and singer Doechii and Best Friends (released in October and December respectively). 

This is the official lyric video and was released on 17th January.

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

Weekly Music Video

This week's video is The Way You Move by American singer JayDon . His real name is JayDon McCrary (his previous stage name was J.D. McCrary) and he started out as a child actor, appearing on a couple of episodes of American TV series K.C. Undercover  in 2015 and going on to voice Young Simba in the 2019 remake of The Lion King .  In January 2018, JayDon released his official debut single Inviting All of You, going on to become the youngest solo artist  to sign with Hollywood Records (part of Disney Music Group ) that summer. He also released the single My Name in August and his debut EP followed in April 2019. Last year, JayDon changed his stage name from J.D. McCrary to his birth name JayDon and released his first single under that name in November, Ah!
