Asian Groups- Thai-Korean Girl Group

Time for another instalment in my Asian Groups series! Today I'm featuring Thai-Korean girl group Ar3NA. While I've shared music from Korean and Thai groups before, this is my first time featuring a "crossover" girl group! :)

 

AR3NA was formed by Thai record label and entertainment agency 411 Entertainment. According to their Kprofile, they also trained under the South Korean company THEBLACKLABEL before debuting.

They are a 3 member group, made up of  JE T'AIME (real name Namon Sawatyanont) PRIM (Disara Diskul Na Ayutthaya) and MINSEO (Ko Minseo or Minseo Ko in Western terms). JE T'AIME and PRIM  are Thai and MINSEO is Korean.

AR3NA debuted in March 2021 with the digital single Come Get It Now. They have released two more digital singles since then- Move On in June 2021 and ACTION in December 2023. They also uploaded a  video of their cover versions of Ariana Grande's Santa Tell Me and Jose Feliciano's Feliz Navidad (Merry Christmas) last Christmas, which was the first AR3NA video I came across!

The group also collaborated with Thai singer and labelmate ALLY on the single Ride On, in October 2021. It was a promotional single for the online game Arena of Valor. It was a Thai language remake of the English song of the same name, to celebrate the game's 5th anniversary.

 AR3NA's most recent release is DON'T FALL IN LOVE featuring PUN, which came out in March.


Come Get It Now

This is Come Get It Now, the group's 1st single, released in March 2021. It's a mixture of Thai, Korean and English, which is cool. Click "Subtitles/closed captions" on YouTube for English subtitles. :)

 

 

 ACTION

Next up is ACTION, the girls' 3rd single.  It's a dance/pop song and was released last December. This one sounds more like a K-pop song to me, although it has no Korean lyrics. It's a mixture of Thai and English.

DON'T FALL IN LOVE feat. PUN

Finally, here is their latest single, DON'T FALL IN LOVE. It's listed as a special single on AR3NA's Tpop Wiki page. The song features Thai rapper PUN (also known as PUNYARB), a member of the hip hop crew YARBCREW and former member of the project boy group THB (now disbanded).

It's a slower R'n'B style song about not wanting to fall in love and get hurt. Like ACTION (see above), it's a mixture of Thai and English. Subtitles  are available for this one too.

New J.Lo and JoJo Music

Two singers I like, Jennifer Lopez and JoJo have new music out, so today I'm sharing it on the blog! Jennifer Lopez- Baila Conmigo First up is Jennifer Lopez, whose new song is the Spanish language Baila Conmigo (Dance with Me). It's a cover of the 2018 single by Dayvi featuring Kelly Ruiz . New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo),
