New(ish) J-pop Videos

It's been ages since I've done an-all J-pop post (apart from my J-pop in Public ones). Although I've written a couple of posts sharing some K-pop and J-pop videos and a couple of  Weekly Music Videos (Koda Kumi and RIRI). I think the last New Videos post with just J-pop was in 2021! So here is some new Japanese music. :)

I've called it "New(ish)" as with previous posts because a couple of the videos are from June!

NOA- BURN

First up is BURN, the latest single by solo singer NOA (full name Kazama Noa, or Noa Kazama in Western terms). He released his debut album NO. A in February but I think this is a stand-alone single.

BURN is a Japanese and English language song and came out on 20th June.

MISAMO- Do not touch

MISAMO (also written as MiSaMo) is the first sub-unit of popular K-pop girl group TWICE. It consists of the band's 3 Japanese members, Momo (full name Hirai MoMo), Sana (Minatozaki Sana) and Mina (Myoui Mina). The group is named after the first two initials of each girl's name. *

MISAMO debuted left month with their first Japanese EP Masterpiece, having previously released the singles Bouquet (from the Japanese TV series Liaison: Children's Heart Clinic aka Liaison: Kodomo no Kokoro Shinryosho) in January and Marshmallow in June.  Masterpiece was released on 26th July.

Do not touch is the lead single from the EP and came out on 14th July. It's a Japanese and English language song with lyrics not touching someone you love without their consent. Click "Subtitles/Closed Captions" on YouTube for English subtitles! :)

aimi & EMI MARIA- Priority

Now time for some Japanese R'n'B! This is Priority by aimi and EMI MARIA. aimi (written in lowercase) is based in Tokyo. Her music is inspired by soul music, and 90s and 00s R'n'B which she grew up listening to, as well as contemporary and alternative R'n'B influences.

aimi released her debut bilingual EP Water Me in May 2020. To date she has brought out two more EPs- Changed 4 Good ( 2021) and Chosen One (2022). Her singles include Fight No More, The Wave with Furui Riho, Lovesick, Chosen One and Priority.

Her latest single is Risk It All, a collaboration with fellow J-R'n'B singer JASMINE, which came out in July.  I actually came across aimi because I searched for new music by JASMINE!

aimi teamed up with EMI MARIA (another J-R'N'B singer) for Priority. They have previously worked together on the single Day N Night, released last October. I think that Priority is a track included on aimi and EMI MARIA's most recent single How's The Weather? which came out in May.

Priority is  a Japanese and English song with chilled vibes. This is the lyric video and it was uploaded on 16th June.

BUDDiis are part of EBiDAN, a Japanese male music collective managed by the talent agency Stardust Promotion. I've mentioned before that I don't know as many as Japanese boy bands as Korean, so it's cool to discover a new one! :)

Glow Gold is BUDDiis' 10th digital single and came out on 28th July.  The video has nice summer vibes!

Koda Kumi- BLACK WINGS

Finally, here is BLACK WINGS, the latest single from my favourite Japanese singer Koda Kumi (or Kumi Koda).

It's a digital single and was released on 31st July.

Note: Avex videos are blocked from being played on 3rd party sites, but you can view it fine on YouTube. :)

Hope you enjoyed the post! :) What are your current favourite Japanese songs?

P.S. The 2nd post is a bit later this week because I  didn't manage to get it finished earlier! :)

*These are Japanese names with the surname/family name written first.

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. They are probably one of the most well-known K-pop bands worldwide.  In June 2022, the group took a break while the members served their  mandatory military service in Korea and have also been concentrat...
