New Music Releases

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week; I wasn't feeling well yesterday. I hope to get back to the normal posting schedule next week! :)

 

It's been ages since I've done a new music post, so today I'm sharing a few new releases from various genres. :)


BM- STRANGERS

This is STRANGERS, the latest solo single by Korean American rapper BM (real name Matthew Kim) who is a member of the K-pop co-ed group KARD. It's his 2nd digital single, taken from the single album of the same name. It's the follow up to his first digital triple single album THE FIRST STATEMENT, which was released in July last year and the stand-alone single Lost in Euphoria (LIE), which came out in January.

As well as the title track, the new single album contains the single Bad Intentions. It was released on 9th August. STRANGERS starts with a mellow rap style and then moves into a faster song with a dance beat. This is the visualiser.

Anitta x Missy Elliot- Lobby

Brazilian singer Anitta (real name Larissa de Macedo Machado) has teamed up with American rapper Missy Elliot for the new single Lobby. It's from the deluxe edition of Anitta's 5th album, the multilingual Versions of Me, originally released in April. 

Versions of Me contains songs in Portuguese (Anitta's native language), Spanish and English. The deluxe edition (which came out on 26th August) features 5 new tracks- Lobby, El Que Espera (Spanish for "The One Who Waits") with Colombian singer Maluma, Yo No Se (I Don't Know) featuring Brazilian rapper L7nnon and Dominican producer and artist Maffio, Practice featuring American rapper A$AP Ferg and record producer Harv and a remix of Dançarina ("Dancer" in Portuguese) with Brazilian singer Pedro Sampaio, French singer Dadju, American singer Nicky Jam and Brazilian funk artist MC Pedrinho.

Lobby is an English language song. The video premiered on 18th August.

 


 

Anitta is also making her debut performance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards tonight.

TWICE- Talk that Talk

Finally, this is Talk that Talk, the brand-new song by Korean girl group TWICE. It's the lead single from their 11th mini album BETW9EN 1&2, which was released two days ago (26th August).

The video also premiered on 26th Aug. English subtitles are available! Click "Subtitles/closed captions". :)

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
