Yemi Alade- Go Down

Go Down is Yemi Alade's latest song. It's from her latest album Black Magic (Deluxe version) and was uploaded to YouTube on 15th January.





Bollywood/Hindi


Shreya Ghoshal- Tere Bina

This isn't actually from a Bollywood film  but it's the latest single from playback singer  Shreya Ghoshal. Her Bollywood singing credits include Dola Re Dola from Devdas, Aashiq Banaya Aapne from the film of the same name, Saansein Ghulne Lagi from Aetbaar,  Teri Yaado Mein from The Killer, Jab Tak Hai Jaan's Saans and Daata Tu from Tiger Zinda Hai.
Tere Bina was released on 5th Jan. Violinist and music composer Deepak Pandit did the music.  It's a nice, relaxing song with a melancholy air. It's in "thumri" style which is a genre of Indian classical music.

K-pop

Momomland- Bboom Bboom

This is Bboom Bboom by Korean girl group Momoland. The group was formed through the reality show Finding Momoland in 2016 and consists of 9 members- Nancy Mcdonie, Daisy (real name Yoo Jeong Ah), Lee Hyebin, Jane (real name Sung Ji Yeon), Yeonwo (birth name Lee da Bin), JooE (real name Lee Joo Won,  Kim Nayun, Kim Taeha and Lee Ahin. (Daisy and Taeha joined last year). Nancy is half Korean and half American and grew up in the US, and Daisy was born in Seoul, South Korea and later moved to Canada.*

Momoland released their debut single Jjan! Koong! Kwang! in November 2016 and their debut mini album Welcome to Momoland in the same month. To date they have released 4 singles including their debut and Wonderful Love (also a single album), and  2 more mini albums, Freeze and Great!Their latest  mini album Great! just came out on 3rd January.

In addition to singing a couple of the members do TV presenting. Nancy became a presenter on music show Pops in Seoul in 2017 and Daisy joins her every Wednesday for the Battle of the Stars  (Idol vs Idol) segment.

 Ryuji Imaichi- ONE DAY

This is ONE DAY by Ryuji Imaichi. He is a member of Japanese group Sandaime (Third Generation) Soul Brothers  from EXILE TRIBE. This is his solo single and the video was uploaded on 10th Jan.

 MONSTA X- SPOTLIGHT

Korean boyband MONSTA X have a new Japanese single called SPOTLIGHT. It was released on 9th January.

Majid Jordan- Gave Your Love Away

 Dua Lipa- IDGAF

British singer Dua Lipa's  latest single is IDGAF from her self titled debut album. I had a couple of songs from it already but I recently was given some money for Christmas to buy iTunes songs and ended getting up the rest of the album. I hadn't heard this song so much but it's growing in me. :) It was released on 12th January.

This is the explicit version. There's also a cut version that they show on the music channels.




 
Tinashe feat. Offset

American singer Tinashe has a new single called No Drama which features American rapper Offset. It came out on 18th January. Please note that the song is explicit. :)

K-pop Comebacks- BTS

Sorry the 2nd post is later again this week, I didn't manage to get it finished yesterday. :) Last month I started a mini series called K-pop Comebacks, featuring the comebacks of K-pop groups during 2026. The first one was about BLACKPINK and you can see it here:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2026/03/k-pop-comebacks-blackpink.html Today I'm focusing on BTS (one of the most popular Korean boybands ). They debuted in 2013 and are a 7-member group, made up of leader RM, formerly known as Rap Monster (real name Kim Nam Joon), SUGA (Min Yoon Gi), Jin (full name Kim Seok Jin), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji Min), V (Kim Tae Hyung) and Jungkook (Jeon Jung Kook). * Since then, the boys have been very successful, not only in South Korea but internationally. Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album.
