New Music for 2019- J-pop

Last year I did a couple of posts about new music for 2018. You can read them here:

Part 1: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2018/01/new-music-for-2018-part-1.html

Part 2:  https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2018/01/new-music-for-2018-part-2.html

Now it's a new year again, so I'm sharing some some new music for 2019 in various genres! Starting with  Japanese pop. :)

Note: Avex videos are now blocked from being shown on third party applications. If you click on the videos you can watch them fine on YouTube. :)

Red Velvet- SAPPY

First up is Korean girl group Red Velvet, with  new Japanese release, SAPPY. It's a digital single (their 2nd original Japanese song) that was released on 6th January.

According to elite daily, SAPPY is about a "sappy" boy who can't make up his mind between two girls. Visit this post for an English translation: https://www.elitedaily.com/p/what-do-red-velvets-sappy-lyrics-mean-in-english-youll-relate-if-your-crush-needs-to-grow-up-15830813

Happiness- POWER GIRLS

Next is the girlband  Happiness who are part of the larger group E-girls and the collective.E.G. family. POWER GIRLS is their latest single/. the video uploaded on 15th Jan and I think the single was released the next day.

I believe the song is a bit longer than the video as Avex (record label) doesn't always show full videos.

King & Prince- (Japanese Title)

Can't leave out the boys! Here are King & Prince a 6 member boyband who debuted last year. The members are Sho Hirano, Genki Iwahashi, Ren Nagase, Yuta Jinguji, Yuta Kishi and Kaito Takahashi. The group's formation was inspired by the success of popular Korean boyband BTS. *

King & Prince released their debut single Cinderella Girl in May 2018. This is their latest single which was uploaded on 10th January. I'm having trouble finding the English translation of the title online (possible "Sunshine" since that's a line in the song?), but will update as soon as I find out! :)

Update 3/5/19: The original video was removed and I'm having trouble finding it again, but I think it was Memorial.

Update 2, 9/10/19: 2nd video has been removed as well due to a copyright claim. You can find live performamce of Memorial here but they may be removed soon too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LePZ-NFUHY

As I've mentioned in the past, I don't know that many Japanese boybands as Korean ones, so it's cool to discover a new one. :)

Hope you like the songs! Stay tuned for more new music for 2019. :) What are your favourite new releases? (In any genre).

Unexpected Girls Updates

Back in September I did a post about the American reality TV show Unexpected. You can read it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2018/09/unexpected.html

There have been two seasons (or series as we also call it in the UK) so far. There will be a 3rd one  featuring mums Lexus, Mckayla and Chloe (Chloe joined in Series 2). Emiley who joined in Season 2, says she isn't returning (see below) so. Laura (who also joined in S2) will also not be back (see below for more on that). Original cast member Lexus shared a casting call on her Instagram page in November, so it seems the company is looking for new girls due to give birth from March to June 2019. Check out the post here; https://www.instagram.com/p/BpzfLAjg8ek/

The gossip site Starcasm also reports that Unexpected's producers are casting for a new programme: https://starcasm.net/unexpected-producers-casting-pregnant-teens-from-same-high-school-or-tap-program-for-new-reality-series/

Unexpected

23/2/19: Updated with new links. :)

Unexpected (full title Unexpected: Teenage & Pregnant) is an American reality TV series following the lives of pregnant teenagers and their partners, and their journey into parenthood. It's the TLC version of the hit show 16 and Pregnant, which spawned the spin off Teen Mom. The first series/season was shown last year, and Series 2 was shown in the US this summer and has just started in the UK.

Season 1 followed  16 year old Lilly Bennett and her boyfriend James,  15 year old Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden, 17, and Mckayla Adkins 16 and her boyfriend Caelan Morrison. Lilly gave birth to daughter Aaliyah Rose, Lexus had a daughter named Scarlett, and McKayla had son Timothy (Timmy).

All 3 of the girls' mums were also teen mothers, and in Lexus' case her grandmother was a teen mum too.

S2 catches up with Mckayla and Lexus, and introduce some new girls and their boyfriends. I'm focusing mainly on the girls here, like with my Te…

Weekly Music Video

Note: The videos in my latest posts seem to not be loading at the top of the page sometimes, but once you go on the post itself you can view the video fine. :)*

*It's working at  the moment!

Today's video is Omo by Nigerian singer Burna Boy. It's the latest release from his 4th studio album African Giant, although I don't think it's an official single.  African Giant was released in July.

The Omo video was uploaded on 6th November. A couple of scenes remind me of LL Cool J's Doin' It, viewing a stripper in a private room! lol.
