New Mariah Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey has a new album out! It's her first album in 4 years (the last one being Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse which came out in May 2014). The new one is called Caution and was released on 16th November. It's Mariah's 15th studio album.

Despite being a long term Mariah fan, I wasn't that keen on Me. I Am Mariah; I just didn't like it as much as previous albums. My favourite song was Faded (only song I've bought currently, but there are others I like listening to on Spotify that I may buy in future, such as You Don't Know What To Do and Meteorite ). The last full Mariah album I got was 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (I do also have some songs from 2010's Merry Christmas II You). These days with online music and sites and apps such as iTunes, YouTube, Spotify etc., people don't tend to buy full albums as much, but I still love CDs! I have a lot less physical CD albums nowadays though. Anyway, I was excited to hear that there was a new Mariah album! (Been on a bit of an old MC album kick the last couple of days or so, lol).

I really like Caution, I feel it's more "classic Rn'B" Mariah, songs kind of like on The Emancipation of Mimi (2005), E=MC² (2008) and Memoirs. So far my faves are A No No, The Distance and Giving Me Life. I also like GTFO, Caution, One Mo' Gen and 8th Grade. I haven't bought any yet because I hope to get the album for Christmas! Here are a few songs from Caution. :)

A No No:


Update 8/3/19: There's now a music video for A No No which was uploaded today. Look out for Mariah's twins Moroccan and Monroe ("Dem Babies") and her boyfriend dancer Bryan Tanaka in the video! :)



Giving Me Life featuring British-American rapper Slick Rick and British singer Blood Orange. I like the music in this and the bit it goes into at the end.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
