K-pop Faves

If you're a regular Star Sparkle reader you'll know that I'm a K-pop (Korean pop) fan! Today I'm sharing some of my fave K-pop songs. :)


Lee Hyori- 10 Minutes

Lee Hyori's 10 Minutes has been one of my fave Korean songs for years.* Hyori (also known as Hyolee) was originally part of the girl group Fin. K.L. but went solo in 2003. Watch the video here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2012/05/weekly-music-video.html

DBSK/TVXQ- Mirotic

Boyband Dong Bang Shin Ki (DBSK) released Mirotic in 2008. I originally heard the Japanese version (in Japan they were Tohoshinki).  You can watch both Korean and Japanese video here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2011/12/weekly-music-video.html


These days DBSK are a duo known mainly as TVXQ.


BIGBANG- Bad Boy

Girl's Day- Something

EXID- Call/Every Night

I heard Every Night by girl group EXID and liked it, then I later heard the original version Call and that became my fave. Call  is from the groups 1st EP Hippity Hop (2012) and Every Night was released as digital single in 2012.

This is Call. It has a slightly slower beat and more laid back vibe than Every Night.

SISTAR- Alone

Alone (from the mini album of the same name and released as a single in 2012) is one of my favourite SISTAR songs. The group disbanded in summer 2017. Hyolyn has had a successful solo career, Bora has branched out into acting and TV, Soyou debuted as a solo singer in late 2017 and Dasom has also gone into acting.

Growl

12 member Korean/Chinese boyband EXO  released Growl in 2013. It's from their debut album XOXO and their are two versions- one Korean language and one Chinese. Check out both here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2014/04/weekly-music-video_30.html


Ko Ko Bop

BTS:

Hip Hop Lover

Blood Sweat & Tears

Fake Love

I.O.I- Very Very Very

I really liked 11 member girl group I.O.I 's Very Very in 2016, and still do now. It was from their second EP Miss Me? which came out in late 2016. The group has since disbanded, but you can keep up with them in other groups and solo. (E.g. Chung Ha is now a solo singer and Lim Na-young is a member of Pristin). AOA- Miniskirt

MONSTA X- One Love

NCT U- The 7th Sense

K.AR.D- You In Me

K.AR.D  are unique in K-pop since they are a mixed gender group (there are mostly all boy or all girl bands). Here is You in Me which came out lat November. I featured it in last year's K-pop Christmas! post: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2017/12/k-pop-christmas.html

Momoland- Bbom Bboom

Girl group' Momoland's Bbom Boom ws everywhere at one point earlier this year! It was released in January nd got i No 2 in the Gaon Chart in February. It's from Great!, Momland's 3rd mini album. NUE'ST W- Where You At

NCT 127- Limitless

Limitless is from the 2nd mini album NCT #127 Limitless, of NCT's 2nd sub unit which contains 10 members- leader Taeyong, Mark, Yuta, Jaehyun, Haechann, WinWin, Jonny, Doyoung and Jungwoo. They debuted in July 2016 with 7 members and Jonny, Doyoung and Jungwoo joined later. Jungwoo is the latest addition, joining in September.

Limitless was released in January 2017. This the Rough Version of the music video.
