In March I started a mini series called New Generation Girl Groups, which features new girl groups. So far I've featured GIRLSET and fiveALIVE.
Now here is the next post in the mini series! Today I'm featuring British girl group Say Now. :)
Say Now formed in 2022 and originally called themselves needanamebro. They debuted their current name in July 2023, explaining that Say Now is something they live by ("saying how you feel when you feel it").
The group consists of 3 members- Ysabelle (Yssy) Salvanera), Amelia Onurah and Madeline (Maddy) Haynes. They stared out as a duo (Amelia and Yssy) but then Maddy joined, after meeting the other girls through social media. They are managed by Modest! Management and also signed to Atlantic Records.
Say Now started out posting covers on TikTok and released their debut single Better Love in April 2023 (under needanamebro). Other singles Not a Lot Left to Say and Netflix (Better Without You) followed later that year. Their first single release under the new name was S.I.N.G.LE in October 2023.
In August 2023, Say Now released their debut compilation album Needanamebro (for digital download and streaming). Their other singles include Bitch Get Out My Car, Makeup Sex, DON'T TEXT DON'T CALL, Brick By Brick, Supermarket and Millions. Their latest single is Met my match, which was just released yesterday.
Random fact: Say Now's songs Supermarket and Millions are quite popular in the cover dance world (as are GIRLSET's). I haven't featured any yet but I'll check some out for a future dance videos post. :)
It's cool to feature a UK girl group here. Say Now remind me of Sugababes (one of my favourite British girl groups!
Better Love
Better Love was the group's debut single, released in April 2023 under their original name. It's an R'n'B/pop song with chilled vibes. The music video has a casual feel with the girls walking the streets (of London probably) while on the phone to each other.
Netflix (Better Now Without You)
This was their 3rd single, also released under needanamebro. It came out in June 2023 and is a pop/dance song about moving on from a relationship. This might have been the first video of theirs that I saw.
Please note that the song contains swearing. :)
Brick By Brick
Released in June last year, Brick By Brick was the group's 12th single. They've shared that the song is a warning to the future partners of their exes that they're far from perfect. And that their boyfriends are only the way they are now because they built them "brick by brick" and taught them how to treat women better!
Supermarket
Supermarket was released in October last year and I think it's one of Say Now's most popular singles to fate. It was co-written by British singer RAYE and the group waited two years before releasing it. As mentioned above, it's also been a hit with dance cover groups after going viral on TikTok!

Millions
Millions came out in March this year, their first release of 2026. It's about knowing your worth and manifesting big things. The track served as a taste of Say Now's upcoming debut EP (which according to GENIUS will be called Say What You See).
Some people have said that the music video seems like an ad for Puma, since the members are wearing their shoes. But it doesn't seem too over the top to me!
Met my match
And finally, here is their brand-new single Met my match. It was released yesterday (18th September).
Millions was co-produced by British singer PinkPantheress and has UK garage and 2000s pop influences. It's also set to be on the group's debut EP.
