This week's video is GOLD by Japanese girl group Happiness. They are a group in their own right and also part of the band E-girls (currently 11 members strong) . Happiness members are Miyuu Ariiso (the leader), Sayaka Nagatomo, Karen Fuji, Kaede Dobashi, Ruri Kawamoto, Yurino Suzuiki and Anna Suda. (You will also see their names written the other way round, since in Japan the surname comes first). Former members are Mimu Hikoi and Mayu Sugieda. Miyuu (stage name is spelt MIYUU) left E-girls in June but is still a member of Happiness.
Happiness were formed in 2009 and to date have released 10 singles, including debut Kiss Me, Wish, JUICY LOVE, Holiday, Sexy Young Beautiful, REWIND and GOLD; and two albums, Happy Time (2012) and GIRLZ 'N EFFECT (2016). They are part of the new E.G. Family collective and linked to other E-girls spin-off groups Dream (now disbanded) and Flower. Their male counterpart is EXILE TRIBE.
GOLD is Happiness' latest singles and will be released on 20th September. This isn't the full video (their record company Avex don't tend to post full videos that often).
Update 6/19/18: Avex videos are now blocked from being shown on third party applications. If you click on the videos you can watch them fine on YouTube. :)
