Today is New Year's Eve, so this week's video is New Year themed! It's What Are You Doing New Year's Eve by Christina Aguilera . It's a live performance of the song (recorded at the Eiffel Tower in Paris), which is part of Christina's new Christmas special Christina Aguilera: Christmas in Paris. It marks the 25th anniversary of her first holiday album My Kind of Christmas and consists of a concert film and a live album. The film was shown in American cinemas earlier in December (and was also shown in the UK) and the album was released on 14th December. Two singles have been released so far- a cover of My Favorite Things from the classic musical The Sound of Music on 26th November and Someday at Christmas on 12th December. Today is Christmas Eve, so this week's video is another festive themed one! :) (Last week's was Tobii's X Mas Love .) It's Jingle Bell Rock by Filipino girl group 4th Impact  (also stylised as 4TH IMPACT). Side note: 2025 has been a milestone year for the sisters, who celebrated their 10th anniversary as a group in August. Their celebrations consisted of a new single, Bet You Never and an anniversary concert in Los Angeles, California. Jingle Bell Rock is 4th Impact's latest single. It's a cover of the classic song , originally released by American country singer Bobby Helms back in November 1957. It's been very popular every Christmas since (in the US in particular) and has been covered by other artists, most notably by American singer  Brenda Lee in October 1964. It's just over a week till Christmas so today's video is festive themed. :) This is X mas Love by Thai/Swiss rapper and R'n'B singer Tobii . The single was originally released a year ago (December 2024). At the time a lyric video was uploaded to YouTube. Now Tobii has released a visualiser in time for Christmas 2025! X mas Love is a sexy R'n'B song about being with your lover at Christmas! It's a mixture of Thai and English lyrics and was written and composed by Tobii. Today's video is Ooh by Korean American rapper BM (who is a member of mixed gender/co-ed K-pop group KARD ). It's his latest single and is from his 2nd EP PO:INT, which came out on 20th October. The EP is the follow-up to BM's debut EP Element , which was released in May 2024. Ooh is the 2nd single from PO:INT, coming after Freak featuring Korean rapper B.I , (released on the same day as the EP). It's an English language R'n'B/hip hop song with Latin influences. Sorry the 2nd post is later this week, I haven't been well and didn't manage to finish it yesterday. :) Last year I started a new series on the blog called Random Albums, where I feature an album I own. The first one was Teedra Moses' debut album Complex Simplicity . I plan to get back to it in 2026. :) Complex Simplicity was originally released in August 2004 in the US (but not till June 2005 in the UK). Teedra released a 15th anniversary edition of the album in September 2009. Last year was the 20th anniversary. Now she has brought out a new version of the album called COMPLEX SIMPLICITY (REIMAGINED), in EP format. It was released on 12th November. This week's video is Deliler, the brand-new single by Turkish Belgian singer Ayshe . It's been a long time since I've listened to her music or featured her on the blog! I just came across the video the other day. :) Deliler is a Turkish pop song and I think the title translates as "Crazy" in English. Christina Aguilera (one of my favourite singers) recently did a live performance. This week's video is Reputation by American singer jxden . His real name is Jaden Hossler and his stage name (written in lower case) is prounced like his real name  ("Jaden"). jxden started his career as a social media influencer, posting videos on TikTok, where he became very popular. This led to him joining talent agency Talent X and the Sway House , a collective of TikTok stars. In February 2020, jxden kicked off his music career by self-releasing his debut single Comatose. He was then signed to DTA Records (owned by drummer Travis Barker from the American band blink-182 ) , in partnership with Elektra Records and released several more singles that year. This week's video is Boss by German singer  Gina Alice . Her full name is Gina Alice Redlinger and she was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, to German-Korean parents  and raised in Frankfurt . She started playing the piano when she was 4 and  went on to appear on the German TV programme Klassik Kids aged 13, as a piano soloist, with the Berlin National Youth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Rasmus Baumann . She has studied at the  Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt and the Hamburg University of Music . Gina Alice has collaborated with the Chinese orchestras the Shenyang Symphony Orchestra and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra . In 2021, she was named a Steinway artist and she also released her debut album Wonderworld in November that year. I wasn't feeling very inspired, but then I had a post idea and didn't get it finished in time yesterday. :) In August, Indian girl group W.i.S.H released their debut album Sweetburn. The 4 member group (India's first girl group in 23 years!) debuted back in March 2024. Their music (known as I-pop) is a  mix of Hindi and English, with both Indian and international influences .  W.i.S.H's creation was inspired by the rise of K-pop globally, although they want to create their own path . Sweetburn, which was released on 10th August, consists of 8 tracks, including W.i.S.H's debut single Lazeez and their other previous singles Galti featuring Mxrzi , Therapy and Headrush.  The lead single is Bolo Bolo featuring Panther, which came out in July and newer singles are Ishaare and Drameboss.  I think they've released about 7 official singles from the album. Today's video is YAP, the latest single by American singer Justine Skye . She's taking a new direction with her music, turning to dance rather than R'n'B. It follows her recent single Oh Lala(a dance/Rn'B song) with Haitian Canadian music producer and rapper  KAYTRANADA  and the dance track Bitch in Ibiza, released in May and July respectively. This is a dance cover of "superstitious" by Indonesian girl group  no na . It was their 2nd single, released as a double A-side along with "falling in love" in May. The cover is performed by British dance crew CADENCE, who describe themselves as "friends who like to dance".
