Jennifer Lopez Live Performances

Last month Jennifer Lopez (one of my favourite singers) took part in Global Citizen Live. It was a 24-hour music event that took place on 25th and 26th September, with the purpose of uniting the world to tackle climate change, eradicate poverty and provide vaccines to people who don't have access to them. Jennifer performed several songs, including If You Had My Love, Jenny from the Block,  All I Have with LL Cool J, I'm Real and Ain't it Funny with Ja Rule. Some of those songs were a real blast from the past, especially All I Have and I'm Real which feature my two favourite rappers! :) I didn't catch all of the performances at the time but the videos are on YouTube. If You Had My Love, Love Don't Cost a Thing, I'm Glad Medley

First up is a medley of Jennifer's 1999 debut single If You Had My Love (my fave J.Lo song) which is from her debut album On the 6, Love Don't Cost a Thing (another one I really like), the first single from 2001's J.Lo and I'm Glad from 2003, available on the album This Is Me... Then (2002).

Next is All I Have, Jennifer's 2001 single with LL Cool J. It's also from her 3rd album This Is Me.. Then.




I'm Real and Ain't It Funny feat, Ja Rule

And finally, here is I'm Real (the Murder Remix featuring Ja Rule) which came out in 2001 and Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix). The I'm Real remix came out as a single and can be found on the 2002 album J To Tha L.O! The Remixes, a re-release of J.Lo and Ja's album Pain is Love.

The original Ain't Funny remix featured both Ja and Cadilliac Tah and is also on The Remixes.  It was a new version of Ain't It Funny from J.Lo.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. Season 2 saw the departure of Lilly and the addition of 3 new pregnant girls and their partners- Laura Barron and her boyfriend (now husband) Tylor Stawmyor who have son Lucas (and have since had another baby , a 2nd son, who is named Leo), ...

20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
