World Dance Videos 2020

We're getting close to the end of 2020, and I've been featuring quite a lot of dance videos this year. So, I thought I'd do one final dance post before the end of the year! This one features several dances from around the world. :)

 

Iranian Dance 2 by Quick Style (Norway/Iran)

First is up is an Iranian dance by the dance group Quick Style. I've actually has this video saved on my "Watch later" playlist on YouTube for a while, but hadn't got round to watching it lol.

Quick Style is a hip hop dance crew from Oslo, Norway. They won Norway's Got Talent in 2009 and now travel the world teaching and performing.

I belly dance, so like Midde Eastern dances. I think it's cool to see a male dance from Iran. I think it's improvisation mostly. The video was posted in October last year.

Top 10 African Dance Styles in 2020 (Africa wide)

Here is a video from ohAFRO, featuring the top 10 African dance styles from this year. Dances include Gwara gwara (South Africa),  Rosalina (Congo), Vosho (South Africa), Pilolo (Ghana) and Alkaiyda (Ghana).

(KPOP IN PUBLIC) NCT U- Make a Wish (Birthday Song)- Dance Cover by B-Wild (Vietnam/Korea)

Now onto K-pop! This is a dance cover of boyband NCT U's Make a Wish (Birthday Song) by Vietnamese dance group B-Wild. Make A Wish came out last month.

The video premiered on 2nd November.

Kaliyon Ka Chaman dance by LiveToDance With Sonali (India)

Here is a brand-new dance by Sonali Bhaduria of LiveToDance With Sonali. It's a choreography to Kaliyon Ka Chaman which is one my favourite Hindi songs! :)

Kaliyon Ka Chaman came out in 2002 and is based on the song Thoda Resham Laghta Hai from the Bollywood film Jyoti (1981). The original version was sung by famous playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. American singer Truth Hurts also sampled the song for her single Addictive, without getting permission and her record label was subsequently sued! 

The 2002 version was remixed by Indian music director Harry Anand and featured on the Universal India album. A slightly different version of Kaliyon Ka Chaman also appears on the 2003 DJ Doll remix album. 

The video was uploaded yesterday. Printika Kumari dances with Sonali.

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year.
