This week's video is Wanted by Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage. She's originally from Lagos, Nigeria but moved to London when she was 11 and later went to America. I first listened to her as part of the 1000 Songs In a Year challenge I did during 2014 and 2015.
Tiwa studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, US and got a degree in professional music. In 2006 she took part in the UK X Factor and was signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2009. Her debut single Kele Kele Love came out in November 2010 and her debut studio album Once Upon A Time was released in July 2013.
Since then Tiwa has been featured on the compliation album Solar Plexus (2012) and released her 2nd studio album R.E.D (Romance, Expression and Dance) last year. Her other singles include Love Me (3x), Ife Wa Ganoma, Eminado featuring Don Jazzy, Love In Yellow, My Darlin' and her latest African Waist. She sings in both English and the Nigerian language Yoruba.
Wanted is from Once Upon a Time. I don't think it was actually released as single but the music video came out in May 2014.
