New J-pop Releases

It's been  a while since my last post on J-pop releases. I last did one back in June in fact! So here's the first J-pop releases post of 2018, with a bonus K-pop release!

Koda Kumi- PARTY

Here's the new video for the song PARTY by my fave Japanese solo singer Koda Kumi. It's from her new album  AND which is set for release on 28th February. The album is said to include her previous singles LIT, and NEVER ENOUGH. Koda will also bring out a second album later in 2018.

PARTY is more of a dance song than some of Kumi's other music. This video is the short version and was uploaded on 8th February.

Ryuji Imaichi- Angel

Next up is Angel, the latest solo single by  Ryuji Imaichi (member of boyband  Sandaime (Third Generation) Soul Brothers from EXILE TRIBE).

Bit of a weird video! Not sure I entirely understand the storyline, I'll have to go back and watch it again. There's one girl who's an angel obviously, lol. It was uploaded to YouTube on 19th Feb.




EXILE THE SECOND

This  is the new one by EXILE THE SECOND, who are also part of the supergroup EXILE. I think it's called Acacia (it's in Japanese on YouTube so I can't read it, but I found it mentioned on another site). If that's right it came out on 22nd February.

Acacia is from the group's new album Highway Star, due for release on 28th March.

BoA

 Watashi Kono Mama de li no Kana (Japanese)

Finally here are a couple of songs by Korean singer BoA. This is Watashi Kono Mama de li no Kana, the title track from her 9th Japanese language album which was released on Valentine's Day (14th Feb). According to SheBOPS.com, it translates as "Am I Ok Like This?".

 The Watashi Kono Mama de li no Kana video was uploaded on 25th January so it's a month old now, but I just came across it and thought I would include it.

ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT (Korean)

BoA has also just released her first Korean mini album ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT. The first two singles from it are Nega Dola (I'm Going Crazy) and ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT.

New Unexpected

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. I don't have any online streaming services so thought I'd just watch clips on YouTube, lol. However it's now starting here in early March. Similar to the popular MTV franchise Teen Mom , Unexpected focuses on teen parents. The first series featured 3 couples expecting babies- Lily Bennett and her boyfriend James Kennedy who have daughter Aaliyah, now 2;  Mckayla Adkins and partner Caelan Morrison who have son Timothy, also known as Timmy (and now daughter Gracelynn , born in January 2019), and  Lexus Scheller and boyfriend Shayden Massey who have daughter Scarlett. South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. 20th Anniversary of Mariah's The Emancipation of Mimi Album- Part 1

My favourite singer Mariah Carey is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her 10th studio album The Emancipation of Mimi. It was released back in April 2005. I'd planned to write just one post about the album but it was turning into a really long one, so I've decided to divide it into two parts! Here is Part 1. :) The Emancipation of Mimi (or TEOM for short!) was considered Mariah's "comeback album" at the time, following on from her previous two albums, Glitter (2001) which was accompanied by the film of the same name and Charmbracelet (2002). Neither the Glitter movie or album were very well received and after going through a difficult time in general, Mariah had an emotional and physical breakdown and checked into hospital that summer.
