Asian Groups- Thai Girl Group + Boy Band

Time for another instalment of my Asian Groups series! Today I'm featuring two Thai groups- girl group THX  and boyband/boy group NEVONE. :)

 

THX

THX are an 8 member girl group from Thailand. Their name stands for "Together, Heading to the Xtraordinary".

The group was formed through E29 Trainees, by Thai record label E29 Music Identities. The members are leader Bambam (real name Butree Kaljurek), Tata (Punnawan Leelaburanatanakul), Barrie (Apichaya Mollin), Fresh (Jibhassorn Laoluechai), Cindy (full name Cindy Schmid), Cheer (Jiyapat Tantikittichaikul), Ray (Ravisara Chiewvej) and Puttjung (Napassanan Ronnakiat).  

THX debuted in November 2024 with the digital single HORIZION LOVE. They released their 2nd single You Like Me Too? in February.


HORIZON LOVE

This is Horizon Love (also stylised as HORIZION LOVE), the girls' debut single, which was released last November. It's a pop song with a mix of Thai and English lyrics.

And here is You Like Me?, THX's 2nd single. It was released in February.

This is a more mellow song (also a mix of Thai and English, Tinglish?!), about wanting to know whether your crush likes you back! 

 


The group also uploaded a video earlier this month that features a special version of the song, filmed at Dream World, an amusement park near Bangkok:

NEVONE 

Thai boy group NEVONE was formed by Thai record label and entertainment agency BRIQ Entertainment (part of RS Music Thailand (who also have girl group Wizzle on their label). 

The group consists of 4 members- Prom (reeal name Kridchayaan Attavipach), Tawan (birth name Phurijiwat), Thankhun (full name Thankun Darasrisak) and Yoshi (Prathanan Yongmeteewarakul).

NEVONE made their debut in May last year with the digital single SHORTCUT. Since then they have released 3 more digital singles- I Mean, Shout Out (both in 2024) and their latest, TRIGGER, which came out earlier this year.

Here is SHORTCUT, their debut single. It was released in May 2024. The song has a laidback beat and is sung in a mixture of Thai and English

Shout Out

This is Shout Out, NEVONE's 3rd single. It came out last November. This is also a mix of Thai and English.

The music video features the boys looking for a mysterious girl!

 


TRIGGER

And finally, here is TRIGGER, their latest single. It has more of an R'n'B vibe than their previous singles, and also has Thai and English lyrics.

We're finally getting the new season of the reality TV series Unexpected in the UK! Season 3 was shown in the US last summer , and I wondered when we'd get it here. 25th Anniversary of Mariah Carey's Butterfly Album

My favourite singer Mariah Carey recently released a 25th anniversary edition of her 6th studio album Butterfly. The original album was released on 16th September 1997 and featured songs such as her hit single Honey, The Roof and My All. It was actually the first album I ever bought (on cassette tape, lol) and I still consider it one of my fave MC albums. :) Butterfly was the first album that Mariah had more control over and it is R'n'B, rather than the pop (and later pop/R'n'B) of her previous releases. It also has pop and hip hop influences. The expanded edition contain 8 extra tracks (the original standard edition has 12)- a duet version of Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight , a new take on The Roof featuring Brandy , live versions of Butterfly and My All, acapella versions of Fourth of July and Outside, an Amorphous Anniversary Club Mix of Butterfly (with DJ Amorphous ) and a remix of Honey (Another Taste of Honey David Morales Mix). South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 .
