Weekly Music Video

Today's video is Feeling Lucky by Korean singer and rapper BIBI and Hong Kong rapper and singer Jackson Wang (who is also a member of Korean boy band GOT7).

BIBI's real name is Kim Hyung-seo and she took her first steps into music by uploading songs to SoundCloud (under the name Nakedbibi). It was through that platform that she was discovered by American born, South Korean based rapper and singer Yoon Mi-rae in 2017 and signed to the Korean record label Feel Ghood Music (founded by Mi-rae's husband Tiger JK).*

The following year BIBI took part in the Korean TV competition show The Fan, finishing in 2nd place. In 2019 she released her debut digital single BINU in May and her debut EP The Manual for People Who Want to Love in June.

In April 2021, BIBI brought out her 2nd EP Life is a Bi.... And in October that year, her single The Weekend (a collaboration with the American record label 88rising) became a hit, leading to a remix with Thai rapper and singer MILLI. In December 2021 she signed a global promotion deal with 88rising.

BIBI released her debut album Lowlife Princess: Noir in November 2022. Her singles include Kazino, Bad Sad and Mad, Life is a Bi..., The Weekend, Bam Yang Kang (one of her biggest hits in Korea to date), Sugar Rush and Feeling Lucky.

Her music is a mix of genres, including R'n'B, soul and hip hop. In addition to singing, she is an actress, having starred in the 2023 Korean thriller Hopeless and TV series The Worst of Evil.

Interesting info: BIBI's younger sister Kim Na-kyoung is a member of K-pop girl group tripleS and its sub-unit Acid Angel from Asia.*

Feeling Lucky is a collaboration with Jackson Wang. The two artists debuted the duet at the American music festival Coachella in April, as part of 88rising's "Futures" Set. It's a sensual English language song with an accompanying sexy video! The single also came out in April.

South Indian Videos

I've written several Bollywood posts this year but I don't feature South Indian music/films as much. So today I'm sharing some music and dance videos from Tollywood ( the Telugu language film industry) and Kollywood (the Tamil language film industry). :) Oo Antava Mawa- Pushpa- Dance Cover by Sonali First up is a dance cover of the song Oo Antava Mawa..Oo Oo Antava from the 2021 Tollywood film Pushpa: The Rise- Part 1 . I previously featured a dance cover of Oo Antava Mawa in a Dance Videos post in August last year. That one is by Rang De and you can see it here: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/08/dance-videos.html This cover is by Indian choreographer Sonali Bhaduria, from LiveToDance with Sonali and was uploaded in January 2022. It's a shorter video.   For more on Pushpa and to watch the official Oo Antava Mawa video, check out my Tollywood Videos Round-up 2 post from September 2023: https://starsparklex.blogspot.com/2023/09/tollywood-videos-round-up-2.html ...

Weekly Music Video

Sorry there wasn't a 2nd post last week, I was going through a bit of a stressful time and didn't manage to get one finished. :) This week's video is I CONDEMN by Australian singer and rapper The Kid LAROI . It was the first single from the deluxe version of his second album BEFORE I FORGET. The original album was released in January and the deluxe version came out on 24th April. It contains 9 extra tracks, including  I CONDEMN and latest single PIECES. I wasn't aware that there was a deluxe version until I saw that some new songs had appeared on Spotify! I like BEFORE I FORGET and my favourite songs from the original version are ME + YOU, JULY,  COME DOWN and RATHER BE featuring Australian rapper and singer Lithe . One of my fave songs on the deluxe version is QUIT YOU, and I also like HOLD STILL and I CONDEMN. The newest single PIECES came out on out the same day as the album. I CONDEMN was released on 17th April. As with the songs on the original BEFORE I FORGET, it...
